Warzone players sick of Rebirth Island Ranked as Season 5 skips Urzikstan again
ActivisionWarzone Season 5 marks the third season in a row where Ranked Play takes place on Resurgence rather than the larger Urzikstan and players have hit back, claiming they’re tired of waiting for the competitive mode to arrive on the big map.
After being removed when MW3 launched, Ranked Play returned to Warzone with the Season 2 update. However, it was limited to Ranked Resurgence, meaning it was restricted to Fortune’s Keep at launch before moving to Rebirth Island from Season 3 onwards.
Ever since, players have been desperately waiting for the competitive playlist to arrive on Urzikstan, just like it did on Al Mazrah. The devs have confirmed they still plan to bring Ranked to the big map, which will make up for the reported delay of Verdansk’s return in Black Ops 6.
But, following the confirmation that Season 5 will bring another round of Ranked Resurgence, players are growing tired of waiting, as they responded to CharlieIntel’s post sharing the news.
“Nobody wants to play rebirth ranked why is it so hard to release big map ranked?” asked one played, while another added: “This is a massive bummer.”
Others called the lack of big map Ranked a “massive L” and also pointed out that World Series of Warzone, a competitive tournament that attracts many pros, currently uses Urzikstan already.
The main feeling among fans is that playing Rebirth Island is growing “boring” due to the smaller size, as it was hoped that Ranked Resurgence was just a stopgap before it returned to the main BR mode
“Literally could have moved it to Vondel to keep things fresh and interesting,” argued one reply, while a different player said: “JESUS CHRIST. THREE SEASONS ON THE SAME MAP. Why did they even bother giving us one season on Fortune Keep?”
Ranked Play is still set to arrive on Urzikstan at an unconfirmed date, but it’s looking increasingly likely it will be alongside Black Ops 6, which is also set to overhaul Warzone’s movement among other gameplay changes.
