Warzone players slam “trash” COD HQ
ActivisionThe Call of Duty HQ app gathers all of the franchise’s active titles in one place for players, but it seems Warzone fans have not been pleased with the recent changes.
Call of Duty fans have been enjoying the launch of Modern Warfare 3 as they dive into the campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes that the game has to offer. Battle royale fans will have to wait a little longer for new content, as MW3’s integration with Warzone is slated for Season 1.
Despite not receiving any new content around the launch of MW3, Warzone players have voiced their opinions on the extra downloads that came their way via the Call of Duty HQ app. The one and only COD HQ will contain Warzone, Modern Warfare 3, and Modern Warfare 2 for the time being.
Following MW3’s launch, it seems as though Warzone players are not finding the new COD HQ concept to be as user-friendly as they’d like, with one Reddit post going as far as to call COD HQ “trash.”
The OP is not pleased with the extra downloads that are required just to access Warzone at the moment: “Whoever thought it was a good idea to force us to download 100+GB of useless stuff is terrible decision making. I don’t have MW3 don’t need it don’t want it.”
While the extra download size for Warzone players who may not be interested in Modern Warfare 3 was the main pain point for many in the comments, others were furious with the navigation aspect: “Just let me launch WZ FFS, you can take up 99% of the title screen with ads if you want, just let me launch the f**king game I want to play.”
They weren’t alone, as most comments agreed that the CoD HQ app is in desperate need of some fine-tuning: “They added it so we can seamlessly go through cod titles except they forgot the seamless part.”
Whether the devs decide to make changes to Call of Duty HQ before Warzone’s impending integration with Modern Warfare 3 remains to be seen.
