Warzone Season 6 release date, new weapons & The Haunting Event
ActivisionWarzone Season 6 is set to be the last seasonal update to arrive before Black Ops 6 launches, so here’s everything we know so far including the release date, new weapons, The Haunting event, and more.
After nearly nine months of content drops, including Season 5 which saw the likes of the STG44 and Torque 35 arrive, this chapter of Warzone is almost over. But before BO6 introduces a host of new weapons, we still have one more season of the Modern Warfare 3 era to go.
Warzone Season 6 release date & time
The Warzone Season 6 update will arrive on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST.
This is the same day the Season 5 Battle Pass ends, so make sure you’ve completed it before the rewards disappear forever.
New weapons in Warzone Season 6
Warzone Season 6 brings the DTIR 30-06 Battle Rifle and Kastov LSW Light Machine Gun to unlock.
The Battle Rifle is described as “slow-firing and hard-hitting,” making it more suitable for accurate players who like picking off targets from a distance. The LMG, on the other hand, is designed to shred enemies at close range with “best-in-class fire rate and Tac Stance accuracy.”
There will also be three new Aftermarket Parts earned through the Weekly Challenges:
- JAK Salvo (KATT-AMR) – The KATT will fire explosive rockets that “deal significant explosive damage.”
- JAK Voltstorm (Stormender) – The Stormender fires a lethal bolt of electricity that can hit multiple enemies.
- JAK Lance (MX Guardian) – A pressurized magazine that lets the Stormender fire three ballistic rivets, but only once per mag.
The Haunting returns with map overhauls & new modes
The fan-favorite Haunting event returns to Call of Duty with Warzone Season 6, bringing a Hellspawn variant of Rebirth and nighttime Vondel alongside brand-new modes.
Rebirth Island gets a “terrifying reimagining” with Season 6’s launch, with the water turning blood-red, tentacles slithering all over the island, “foul anomalies” on the walls, and gore strewn everywhere.
Although the sun has set on Vondel again, the devs said “visibility is good” as the lights have stayed on. However, “the undead terrors awaiting you across Vondel are an additional concern as you battle through the night.”
These map variants will also feature the new modes for Season 6 – Purgatory and Zombie Royale.
Purgatory is a brand-new Sandbox mode on Hellspawn, where players have constant access to their loadout and unlimited lives. What makes it unique is that several different mechanics will shake up the gameplay.
These include Super Weapons and Mutation abilities to pick up, Portals to transport you somewhere else on the map, Terriballs that you can throw at players to one-shot them, and “Flying Shipment,” where the classic map will fly over the island for you to fight on. You can also take a break from the chaos by visiting the Safe Zone, where you can’t deal or receive damage.
Zombie Royale is a classic mode coming to Hellspawn and Vondel Night, where dead Operators return as Zombies with the chance to return to the land of the living by collecting syringes from fallen players.
Horror-themed crossovers
Spooky crossovers with horror franchises arrive in Warzone Season 6 through the new Battle Pass and Store Bundles, including:
- Michael Myers (Halloween) – Season 6 Battle Pass
- Daryl Dixon (The Walking Dead) – Operator Bundle
- Art the Clown (Terrifier) – Operator Bundle
- Possessed Valeria & Possessed Makarov (Smile 2) – Tracer Pack
