When is Ranked Play coming to Warzone?

Warzone ushered in a new era with its integration with Modern Warfare 3, bringing a ton of new content, like new weapons and the Urzikstan map. While a majority of the community is always looking to figure out the meta weapons, many like to test out their skills against players with similar skill levels.
Competitive Warzone has been a thing ever since Verdansk launched in 2020, but it wasn’t until 2023 that a full-fledged Ranked Play mode arrived and instantly became a fan-favorite. Ranked Play in Warzone allowed you to advance through various ranks and unlock several rewards as well.
With Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play in full swing, you might be wondering if Warzone Ranked is arriving as well. So, here’s all you need to know about Warzone Ranked Play.
When does Ranked Play return to Warzone?
Ranked Play is officially coming back to Warzone during the Season 2 “launch window,” as confirmed in the Call of Duty blog. However, rather than the full-scale mode players were expecting, Ranked Resurgence on the returning Fortune’s Keep map is arriving instead.
While the Skill Divisions and Ranks will function in a pretty similar way to the Al Mazrah version, Ranked Play will be exclusive to the smaller mode to begin with.
When does Ranked Play come to Urzikstan in Warzone?
Warzone’s Ranked Play mode comes to the Urzikstan map “later” in 2024, although a concrete release date has yet to be confirmed.
Following the announcement of Ranked Resurgence, the devs said: “This is the first of the Ranked Play modes to come to Call of Duty: Warzone. Battle Royale players should expect a Ranked Play experience to return later in the year.”
Modern Warfare 3 got its Ranked Play mode with Season 1’s mid-season update, but the devs have decided to take their time when it comes to Urzikstan.
Speaking at Call of Duty Next, Warzone’s Senior Creative Director Ted Timmins said, “Going into this new year of Warzone we just want some time to kind of digest that initial feedback… let it breathe, let everything breathe.”
It remains to be seen how much will change when Ranked Play finally hits Warzone Urzikstan, but players will be hoping for a number of changes based on their feedback. We’ll be sure to let you know if there are any updates.
