Warzone’s infamous Doom Shotgun returns to terrorize Rebirth Island

The Doom Super Shotgun was one of the most notorious metas to hit Warzone and it’s made a comeback in Season 5 Reloaded – completely taking over Rebirth Island in the process.

The mid-season patch marked the return of the popular Supreme Resurgence mode, which takes place exclusively on Rebirth Island and replaces all ground loot with powerful Blueprints. In the mode, top-tier guns are scattered around the map, but you still have the option to buy your loadout.

After doing this, players quickly discovered that the controversial Doom Shotgun, which dominated Al Mazrah when it was first released, has returned with a vengeance.

As you might remember, the Lockwood 300 Blueprint can one-shot a fully-plated enemy from ridiculous ranges by Shotgun standards, giving the opposing player little time to react. Since the mode went live, plenty of content creators like ‘tcTekk’ have posted videos of them using the Shotgun to delete players.

The Doom Shotgun’s return is thanks to the Maelstrom Dual Trigger being available in the mode, as it’s banned in regular Warzone matches. This Trigger Action attachment lets the Lockwood 300 fire both barrels at the same time for double the damage.

Those running the Blueprint can down an enemy with one squeeze of the trigger, outgunning meta SMGs in the process.

This isn’t the first time the Doom Shotgun has returned in Warzone, as it also reappeared back in Season 3 Reloaded on Loaded Resurgence. However, players had to equip a different Blueprint that used the Maelstrom Dual Trigger, as it was still locked on the Super Shotgun Blueprint.

This time, the notorious meta weapon is back in its original form on Supreme Resurgence. However, it’s worth noting that it’s no longer available on the CoD Store, so only those who purchased it will have access.

This was likely just an oversight from the devs and the one-shot Doom Shotgun will no doubt be removed again at a later date – either by banning the Maelstrom attachment again or if Supreme Resurgence leaves in Warzone Season 6.
