Does Modern Warfare 3 have an open beta?

Call of Duty has officially announced that Modern Warfare 3 will have an open beta for all players.

Here are some important details about the open beta and early access codes:

  • If you digitally preorder the game on any platform, you won’t need a beta early access code as you will be automatically registered to participate in the beta.
  • Beta early access codes will be available for all PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Battle.net and Steam.
  • Early access tokens will be sent close to the beginning of the beta start date, which might vary depending on which platform you play.

Similar to how the beta worked in previous titles, it has been confirmed that players won’t be able to transfer their beta progress to the final game version. However, for the first time in CoD’s history, players will have all their MW2 inventory and progression available at MW3’s launch on November 10.

Despite confirming the existence of Modern Warfare 3’s open beta, release dates are yet to be announced.
