CD Projekt Red delays Cyberpunk 2077 DLCs to work on bug fixes

CD Projekt Red has delayed the free DLC releases for Cyberpunk 2077 in order to work on the console ports and several updates.

CD Projekt Red has released a statement about the future of their game, Cyberpunk 2077.

It’s no secret that the release of Cyberpunk 2077 has been a disaster for the team over at CD Projekt Red, with the game running horribly on older hardware generations, leading to massive requests for refunds. This ultimately led to PlayStation de-listing the game from the store, which quickly became a PR nightmare.

Fast-forwarding to the present, CD Projekt Red has finally released a public statement regarding the future of the game and has also laid the pathway for the future patches and free DLC releases for the game.

Currently, CD Projekt Red plans two large patches for the release, with the first dropping within 10 days of January 13. The second patch will be more significant than the first and will release in the weeks following the first patch. There will still be more updates after these large patches, but these are the first planned of many.

Throughout 2021, CD Projekt Red plans to release free DLC for the game, alongside the free next-gen console update, which is planned to drop in the second half of the year. Unfortunately, this means users who have an Xbox Series X or a PlayStation 5 will have to wait a bit before a more advanced version of the game releases.

PC players can expect further bug fixes, crash fixes, and hopefully optimization updates to make the game run smoother on legacy hardware. While PC is still an important release for CD Projekt Red, the console versions definitely have more issues, and will most likely be a large focus of the upcoming updates.

Alongside this announcement, CD Projekt Red has made a commitment to players for the road ahead.

Cyberpunk 2077’s plans have been unchanged, and CD Projekt Red plans on supporting the game for years to come, just like The Witcher 3. You can watch the full statement in the YouTube video above.

CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077

It’s officially confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive brand new DLC content thanks to comments made by CD Projekt Red. Here’s everything we know so far, from the release date, to what will be in the expansion.

Cyberpunk 2077 was arguably the most anticipated video game of all-time. The hype was enormous and it’s no secret that it had a messy release. CD Projekt Red’s latest title was plagued with game-breaking bugs on all platforms, which led to fans getting refunds.

Despite this, the game shattered records and its social statistics were incredible – making it the first Steam title to crack 1 million concurrent players. Now the devs have announced new DLC for the game, and here’s everything we know about it, both confirmed and rumored.

When will the Cyberpunk DLC be released?

While the exact release date for the Cyberpunk DLC hasn’t been confirmed by the devs, we do know that it is planned to come out “in early 2021.” This was confirmed on Cyberpunk 2077’s official website and we might see it at some point in the next few months.

It’s possible that CD Projekt Red is going the same route they went with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. They released the DLC across many different months throughout the year, so we might see something similar in 2021.

The devs will probably prioritize fixing the game’s bugs in the two big patches that they announced, so they might release the expansion afterwards. The site tells fans to stay tuned for more information, so as soon as they announce an official date, we’ll be sure to update this guide.

Will the Cyberpunk DLC be free?

If you’re not looking to spend a lot on new content, then you’re in luck. A few of the DLC packs for Cyberpunk 2077 will be completely free of cost. These will probably consist of new cosmetic items, tech, and mini-quests.

There will also be paid DLC which will expand upon the world of Cyberpunk 2077 in a major way and will likely consist of large-scale missions and fully constructed narratives.

What will be in the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC?

The official premise of the DLC hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we can piece together bits and pieces of information from the webpage. It shows clips from the story featuring Judy and Johnny Silverhand, which might imply that the expansion will revolve around them.

Rock Paper Shotgun spotted a clue about the DLC’s content in one of the game’s trailers. They stated that the free DLC will have a “bunch of cool stuff that’ll inject even more life into the world of the dark future.”

They also mentioned that the paid DLC will “take you even deeper into the world of Cyberpunk 2077, offering substantial, story-driven content that’ll give you tough choices to make through impactful narratives that you won’t soon forget.”

A leak from GameFAQs points to cut missions, items, and dialogue being added to the game in the expansion packs. This hasn’t been officially confirmed, but it does sound exciting.

That covers everything we know so far about the planned DLC for the game. Once we learn more information from the developers then we’ll be sure to update you. Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.

It’s fitting that Cyberpunk 2077 is filled with fatalities because here’s how to find the Mortal Kombat Easter Egg in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is no stranger to secrets and Easter Eggs, which is why it’s no surprise to hear that the game contains a tribute to Mortal Kombat hidden amidst the death and destruction of Night City.

It’s been hard to overlook the deserved criticism that Cyberpunk 2077 has been receiving over the last few weeks. The game’s countless issues across multiple platforms have led to widespread condemnation and even legal action.

But at the heart of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is a truly outstanding game that flourishes in the art of storytelling and delivering terrific missions, characters, and gameplay. Night City is a vibrant, beaming sight of lights and pools of blood. But it also contains some amazing secrets, with its most recent secret being yet another cool touch to add to the game’s positives.

Cyberpunk 2077 Mortal Kombat Easter Egg

One of the standout aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 is the sprawling open-world it’s managed to create. Night City is fascinating, deep, and there’s always something going on in it. Whether it’s a gang dispute, the random events of a normal person’s life, or even a 1 vs 1 argument that turns ugly in a hurry – Night City is lively.

In order to truly get the most of this chaotic cesspool of criminals and Corpos, you need to be exploring more than Indiana Jones with a map. Numerous secrets have already been found around Cyberpunk’s world, and a new one has been discovered.

Mortal Kombat is one of the most beloved and critically acclaimed beat ’em ups of all-time. It’s had a huge bearing on the gaming landscape – especially in terms of the brutal nature of its content. It would be right at home in Cyberpunk, and aptly enough, it now is.

Here are the steps you’ll need to follow to unlock the secret Mortal Kombat statue:

  1. Progress through Cyberpunk 2077’s main missions until you encounter Panam
  2. You will then meet a character called Mitch, through Panam
  3. Accept the “Fly Me Away” side quest
  4. Complete the side quest
  5. Part of your reward for the quest will include the “Yellow Jacket Warrior” statue

If you inspect the statue quite closely, you’ll realize that the character bears a striking resemblance to Mortal Kombat’s legendary mascot – Scorpion.

He’s obviously been given a slight Cyberpunk makeover as he’s missing his classic spear and seems to be boasting some new augmentations.

The statue won’t give you any additional ability points or provide you with any discernible buffs, but it’s a hell of a cool collectible to retain and look at.

How to fly in Cyberpunk 2077

A new trick has been discovered in CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 that allows you to make your character fly.

You can obtain many new abilities through future technology in Cyberpunk 2077, but flight isn’t one of them. However, there is a fun trick that you can perform in the game to send yourself flying in the air.

The futuristic world of Cyberpunk 2077 is filled with various technological marvels. This includes a few flying vehicles as well, but sadly you can’t make use of them. V is only able to fly during the main quest, and you can’t upgrade yourself with the ability of flight through new tech.

This is disappointing, but luckily one Cyberpunk player has discovered a way for you to fly through the streets of Night City. This will allow you to reach new heights as you explore the map. All it takes are the right Cyberware pieces, and a little ingenuity.

How to fly in Cyberpunk 2077

This trick was discovered by Reddit user u/Heimgang, who posted a clip of it in the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit. First you need to make sure that you didn’t punch or kill Fingers. This process will not work if you did either of those things, and you’ll have to start a new playthrough.

Visit the Ripperdoc in Westbrook, and purchase the Epic variants of the Fortified Ankles. This piece of Cyberware will allow V to hover in midair. Make sure you don’t purchase the regular variants, since they will not grant you this ability.

Then you need to visit a get yourself a Kerenzikov implant from any Ripperdoc in the city. This grants you the ability to slow down time and jump great distances. Both of these items will get you halfway into the air, and then you need to perform a simple trick.

Here’s how you can fly:

  1. Aim down your gun’s sights.
  2. Spam the moving forward button (Up on controller + W on PC).
  3. Hold the jump button (X/A on PlayStation/XBOX and Space on PC).

This will send V flying across Night City, and you’ll gain access to brand new vantage points that you couldn’t reach before. You can see this trick in the clip below.

That’s all you need to do to make V fly in Cyberpunk 2077. It’s all about precision and if you’re not careful then you can fall, and get yourself injured or killed. This is a fun technique to get yourself onto previously inaccessible areas within the game’s map.

The only downside is that there’s really no incentive to getting to these higher areas. You won’t find any hidden easter eggs or secrets there, so ultimately you won’t really get anything substantial from this trick. You should just enjoy the view.

Hopefully one day CD Projekt Red will implement some new features that add more impressive content to the skyscrapers, such as collectibles or paths. If they do, then we’ll be sure to update you.
