One of the new maps that will headline the beginning of Black Ops Cold War Season One has been announced as being Raid. Debuting in Black Ops 2, the map is a beloved treasure in Call of Duty and will be a great addition to the game.
Black Ops Cold War already has quite a few maps that feel like they could seamlessly slot into any classic CoD title and it would be a perfect fit. Treyarch has definitely tried to regain some of that formula that has made the franchise an unprecedented success with their latest effort.
But their current crop of corridors and open-spaces will not be alone for too long as the hotly-anticipated Season One kicks off very soon bringing with it new content. We know for certain that in that airdrop of goodies we will get the Hollywood-inspired map, Raid.
The triumphant return of Raid can only be good news as the L.A estate is jam-packed full of life and personality. Whether it’s tussling behind expensive cars waiting to be written off or destroying priceless architecture with semtex. Raid is a superb map that compliments any 6 v 6 mode.
Its luxurious nature is furthered by just how diverse it is. In addition to all the cover-based shootouts you can have, Raid also has plenty of scope to use…well a scope. Long-range battles are perfectly suited to this map and its complexities are what make Raid thrive as a total package kind of environment.
But when will you be able to play it? The map was originally supposed to be dropping along with the rest of the Season One content on December 10.
Due to unforeseen circumstances however, that date has now changed to December 16.
Along with Raid, Treyarch has reiterated that its player base can prep themselves for more multiplayer modes, maps, weapons, challenges, and a deeper prestige system.

How to turn off crossplay in Black Ops Cold War & Warzone
Here’s what you need to do in order to turn off Call of Duty’s Crossplay functionality in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 4.
While playing Call of Duty with your friends on different platforms can be fun, there is a risk of you encountering hackers and cheaters. You can avoid that by using our guide to turn off crossplay in Black Ops Cold War & Warzone Season 4.
Crossplay in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone is a feature that connects players across all platforms through an “Activision Account.” Players who do not opt-in to this system will be unable to play cross-platform across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
If you do have an Activision Account, you will be automatically entered into the crossplay player pool by default. If you feel like this isn’t for you, and you want the option to disable this, then follow our quick and easy guide.
How to turn off crossplay for Black Ops Cold War
- Log into Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer
- Navigate to ‘Settings’
- Go to the ‘Account & Network’ tab
- Change Crossplay from ‘Enabled’ to ‘Disabled’
How To Turn off Warzone Crossplay
- Log into Warzone
- Go to the ‘Options’ section
- Navigate to the ‘Account’ tab
- Change Crossplay from ‘Enabled’ to ‘Disabled’
Once crossplay is disabled, you’ll only matchmake against players on your native platform. You can toggle crossplay back on at any time. We especially recommend having it on while queuing for Warzone.
Also, be warned, only PlayStation can turn off crossplay in Warzone. Xbox and PC players will be forced to turn the option back on before beginning matchmaking.
Why turn off crossplay for Cold War & Warzone?
Simply put, cheaters and hackers. If you’re a console-only player, you might run into a few from the PC platform. While Raven Software has been issuing ban waves in an attempt to stop the constant torrent of blatant cheaters and constant hackers, they still continue to exist.
We strongly recommend keeping crossplay on to ensure the queue times stay short, we also understand that running into cheaters is not fun.
Unfortunately, if you’re on PC, turning off crossplay will significantly increase your matchmaking times. We do not recommend turning off crossplay unless you are on a console.
Why should I keep crossplay on?
If you’re wondering why you should keep crossplay on – first and foremost, interconnectivity. With crossplay enabled, you can play with Call of Duty friends on other platforms. If this is off, players on other platforms won’t be able to join your sessions and you won’t be able to join them.
Secondly, matchmaking times will be impacted if you turn off crossplay. More so on PC than other platforms, but the matchmaking pool you enter into on console will be against players with no Activision ID and other players who have turned off crossplay.
Lastly, connections. You’ll be entered into a more narrow pool of players, so this could also have a negative impact on your ping. Overall though, you should still be matchmade into the best available games.
Ultimately, it’s up to you how you proceed with matchmaking but we would definitely recommend factoring in all the information above and thinking carefully.

Cold War players want classic Black Ops 1 map to return
Cold War has featured many different Black Ops II remakes, but fans are eager for a Black Ops I map to appear in Treyarch’s latest CoD game.
Quite a few Black Ops Cold War players have made their feelings known in wanting Treyarch to put aside the Black Ops II love, and remake Black Ops I’s Havana map.
As well as creating new environments such as Yamantau, The Pines, Diesel amongst other maps, Treyarch has also brought back quite a few maps from previous titles. Eagle-eyed players will notice that the maps have all been remakes of Black Ops II maps – with only Nuketown from the first game.
However, Cold War fans would love to see this approach change in a future update by remaking a classic Black Ops I map – Havana.
In our own personal list of maps we wanted to see return in Black Ops Cold War, we singled out Havana as a strong, potential candidate.
It seems that other players have agreed with Reddit user DogeJonkins also laying claim to Cold War needing the map.
“I really want this map to be remade,” they said, with the main menu picture of the map attached to the post.
One user alluded to the fact that Treyarch has concentrated on remaking maps from one game: “If we have to have remakes instead of original content, at least have it not be BO2 (Black Ops II).”
With Season 4’s Reloaded update starting to age, it’s getting close to the point where we can start speculating on potential content for Cold War Season 5. Treyarch will surely have a surprise or two left up their sleeves as we close in on Call of Duty: Vanguard 2021.
