Classic CoD map Raid returns in Black Ops Cold War Season One

BOCW’s armory of maps is getting some reinforcements in the form of classic CoD map Raid, it returns in Black Ops Cold War Season One.

One of the new maps that will headline the beginning of Black Ops Cold War Season One has been announced as being Raid. Debuting in Black Ops 2, the map is a beloved treasure in Call of Duty and will be a great addition to the game.

Black Ops Cold War already has quite a few maps that feel like they could seamlessly slot into any classic CoD title and it would be a perfect fit. Treyarch has definitely tried to regain some of that formula that has made the franchise an unprecedented success with their latest effort.

But their current crop of corridors and open-spaces will not be alone for too long as the hotly-anticipated Season One kicks off very soon bringing with it new content. We know for certain that in that airdrop of goodies we will get the Hollywood-inspired map, Raid.

Raid returns

The triumphant return of Raid can only be good news as the L.A estate is jam-packed full of life and personality. Whether it’s tussling behind expensive cars waiting to be written off or destroying priceless architecture with semtex. Raid is a superb map that compliments any 6 v 6 mode.

Its luxurious nature is furthered by just how diverse it is. In addition to all the cover-based shootouts you can have, Raid also has plenty of scope to use…well a scope. Long-range battles are perfectly suited to this map and its complexities are what make Raid thrive as a total package kind of environment.

But when will you be able to play it? The map was originally supposed to be dropping along with the rest of the Season One content on December 10.

Due to unforeseen circumstances however, that date has now changed to December 16.

Along with Raid, Treyarch has reiterated that its player base can prep themselves for more multiplayer modes, maps, weapons, challenges, and a deeper prestige system.

NICKMERCS shows powerful DMR Warzone Season 1 loadout

Streamer NICKMERCS gave us a close look at his preferred loadout for the DMR in Call of Duty: Warzone in his latest video.

NICKMERC's DMR loadout

Call of Duty content creator Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff showed off his loadout for the DMR in Warzone, which gives the gun a major buff, while making up for the recent nerf that it received.

The DMR has received various nerfs throughout its history in Call of Duty: Warzone, but it remains one of the fastest killing guns in the game. While it’s not as powerful as it used to be, it’s still a great weapon choice in Season 1.

It comes with an impressive firing, high damage, and almost precise accuracy. NICKMERCS is well aware of the DMR’s capabilities in combat, and he posted a YouTube video in which he recommended a specific loadout for the weapon.

NICKMERCS’ DMR Warzone loadout

Nick’s new DMR loadout is quite different post-nerf It’s designed to compensate for the weapon’s recent changes, and to give some major boosts to the damage that it can dish out in combat.

He makes use of the following attachments:

  • Muzzle: Infantry Compensator
  • Barrel: 16.3” Titanium
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 30 Rnd Speed Mag

The Infantry Compensator and 16.3” Titanium barrel, are the newest additions to his loadout. The former minimizes the DMR’s vertical recoil so that you don’t have to worry about aiming problems when firing continuously.

Meanwhile, the 16.3” Titanium barrel and Field Agent Foregrip will further improve the gun’s already impressive rate of fire. This will complement the improved recoil control so that you’re able to fire a lot longer.

The Axial Arms 3x is one of the most useful Black Ops Cold War sights in the game, so you’ll be able to use this optic to engage your foes in different types of combat. This will make the DMR ideal for long, medium, and short-range battles.

He capped off the loadout with the 30-round Speed Mag, which will reduce the DMR’s reload time while providing you with enough ammo to continuously dish out pain to your opponents.

NICKMERCS was able to score 20 kills in a single game with this loadout equipped, so it’s definitely worth trying out. It’s clear why the DMR is still one of the most widely picked weapons in Warzone, even after the nerfs it received.

Hilarious video explains why the Call of Duty Raid map makes no sense

A funny, player-made video has explained, with evidence, as to why one of CoD’s most popular maps ever actually makes zero sense.

The nature of Call of Duty maps is often overlooked and Raid may actually be the worst offender out of any. The Replay Mode YouTube channel has created a satirical video that explains the map’s peculiarities.

Raid came into our lives in 2012 with Treyarch’s CoD: Black Ops II. The exquisitely designed map takes place on the grounds of a multi-million dollar property, featuring an expensive sports car, a stylish sculpture, a massive pool, and many other lavish features.

Until now, it’s always been regarded as one of Call of Duty’s greatest multiplayer maps, but a new perspective has revealed that it’s actually quite a bizarre creation.

A YouTube channel by the name of Replay Mode has posted many satirical videos that clearly parody many elements of Black Ops Cold War. Some of these videos include compilations of amusing player IDs, showcasing CoD glitches, and most notably tours of the game’s maps.

One of the videos is the “Accurate Tour of Raid” and it points out many key details that people have perhaps been unaware of due to the all-encompassing nature of the map’s combat.

The narration systematically dissects all the blinding obvious faults with this piece of ill-conceived estate, and you quickly wonder why you’ve never realized these details before.

For instance, the Master Bedroom provides a sumptuous view of the pool but doesn’t connect to anything else. The Kitchen is isolated, meaning you have to take your food outside to get to a more relaxing area of the house.

But the icing on the cake has to be Raid’s Panic Room. A type of room that’s designed to be so tightly secured that no one can get in. Yet the room has a gaping window that anyone could access.

The video is made in jest of course and is just a light-hearted interpretation of the map’s more irrational aspects. You should definitely check out the full video.

Just remember, the next time you’re in the middle of a heated game of Raid, someone’s pizza is getting rained on.
