Classic map to return in Cold War Season 4; surprise remaster too?

Another classic Black Ops map looks like it could be returning in CoD: Cold War Season 4, along with another surprise map remaster.

A reliable Call of Duty leaker has strongly hinted that the classic Black Ops 2 map Hijacked is gearing up for Season 4. Also, an additional map remaster could be due as well.

After taking a while to get going, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is positively stacked with lots of great maps to keep players entertained for hours. As well as inventive new maps such as The Pines and Crossroads, we’ve also had the pleasure of being introduced to an old flame or two.

We’ve had the predictable return of Nuketown, caught up with Raid, and even had a fond reminder of Standoff too. But Treyarch is already planning ahead for Season 4 of Cold War with not only Hijacked potentially on the cards, but a bonus remaster as well.

The news comes courtesy of CoD leaker page MW2 OG, and they’ve said: “90% sure Hijacked is coming [to Cold War] next season.”

If this is true, then it will mark the first time that Hijacked has been seen in a console Call of Duty game since Black Ops IIII. The map is very unique as it sees the action take place on a lengthy cruise ship with lots of frantic action.

But as well as Hijacked being heavily-rumored for Black Ops Cold War Season 4, it seems like Treyarch could have more in store for players.

We’ve previously made mention of some classic maps we wanted to see return in Cold War, and with Hijack potentially being confirmed, we wonder what we could possibly see next.

With the satellites crash-landing in Verdansk in Season 4, Warzone and Cold War will include the Ground Fall event, offering players various unique cosmetic rewards.

As teased in the Season 4 reveal trailer, satellites have crash-landed in Verdansk ’84. Similar to Adler’s capture kicking off Season 3’s Hunt for Adler event, these satellites’ arrival will kickstart the ‘Ground Fall’ event.

As with all Cold War and Warzone limited time events, there will be a series of challenges to complete, allowing you to earn cosmetic items such as weapon Blueprints, Operator skins, calling cards, and more.

Here’s everything we know about Warzone and Cold War Season 4’s Ground Fall event.

Activision have confirmed that the Ground Fall event will kick-off Season 4, so will begin on June 17.

Devs also confirmed that when the new season begins, the Ground Fall event tab will appear on the menus so you can begin completing the challenges and immediately start earning the rewards.

This event is limited time, so you’ll need to complete all of the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone challenges before 10 AM PT on June 24 to earn every reward.

Similar to the 80s Action Heroes and Hunt For Adler events, there will be separate challenges for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.

While the full list of challenges hasn’t been revealed yet, devs have given us a taste of what they’ll entail. They said that Cold War’s will be relating to Season 4’s “new modes, maps, and weaponry,” Warzone’s will pertain to the new POIs, such as finding and securing SAT-Links.

Once the Ground Fall event officially goes live at the start of Season 4, we’ll update this article with every challenge for Warzone and Cold War.

Cold War Season 4 weapon buffs & nerfs: AK-47, XM4, Krig 6

Black Ops Cold War Season 4 sees Treyarch make sweeping balancing changes to a number of Assault Rifles, including the XM4 and AK-47.

Cold War Season 4 character shooting an Assault Rifle

Black Ops Cold War’s Season 4 update is here, and as always, Treyarch have been tinkering with the game’s weapon balance, with buffs and nerfs for a number of guns.

Weapon balancing is a huge part of keeping any game fresh, giving developers the opportunity to tweak the meta to make overpowered weapons more manageable, or to give guns that aren’t being used often a much-needed boost.

The launch of the Season 4 patch gives Treyarch the perfect opportunity to buff and nerf a number of weapons in an attempt to shake things up, and the developers have focused on a single class of guns this time around.

Season 3: Reloaded saw Treyarch work on SMGs, Sniper Rifles, and a number of attachments, but with Season 4, the focus is clearly on Assault Rifles. Here’s a breakdown of the big changes coming with the new patch.

Assault Rifle changes in Cold War Season 4

Assault Rifles are going to feel very different in Season 4. All seven guns in the class have been adjusted in some manner, mostly focusing on the attachments that players use with them.

Suppressors will definitely become more widespread thanks to Treyarch‘s decision to reduce the range penalties on most ARs, although it has been slightly increased by 2% on the ultra-powerful AK-47. The QBZ-83 and Groza have also had their penalties increased slightly to bring them in line with the class average.

The biggest change comes for the XM4 though, which sees a huge 11% drop in range penalty, making the already strong gun even more useful.

Alongside the brand new weapons and maps for Warzone and Cold War Season 4, the game will be introducing its first Ultra-rarity Operator skin. New Operator Jackal will receive a unique color-changing outfit, something Verdansk has never seen before.

This new skin “allows Jackal to come alive with a mesmerizing light pattern across his entire jumpsuit and mask,” making it a highly sought-after item in Season 4.

Here’s how to unlock Season 4 Operator Jackal and his Ultra-rarity Iridescent skin in Season 4.

South African mercenary Jackal is Season 4’s featured Operator, who you’ll unlock as soon as you purchase the premium Battle Pass. This costs 1000 CoD Points and you can now either buy the pass yourself or receive it through Call of Duty’s new gifting system.

The Iridescent Jackal Skin will be unlocked at Tier 100 of the premium Season 4 Battle Pass. Reaching Tier 100 will take some time, but you can speed up the process by buying the Battle Pass Bundle for 2400 CoD Points, which includes 20 discounted Tier Skips, or you can take advantage of Double XP events.
