Clever Fortnite Chapter 3 chicken trick is perfect for opening Vaults
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 has brought back Vaults to the Island, and while opening them can usually be difficult, there’s a simple trick to get that done easily with the use of a chicken.
Fortnite Chapter 3 is finally here, and there are plenty of new additions like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Spider-Man arriving as unlockable skins. We’ve also seen the return of Vaults on the map.
There are filled with high-tier weapons and loot just waiting to be collected, but unlocking them can be a bit difficult. However, there’s a simple trick you can use to open them with the help of chickens.
How to open Fortnite Vaults with chickens
There are seven vaults on Fortnite Island in Chapter 3, and you’ll need to visit them while playing in Duos, Trios, or Squads. Your teammates will have to help you open the group lock.
However, Reddit user ‘NoOneKnowsNova’ was able to open the Vault while playing alone by using a chicken. You just need to raise the little creature above your head and hold them in front of the Vault lock.

This will cause the gate to roll open since the game seems to identify the chicken as a fellow player. The Redditor shared this trick in the Fortnite subreddit, and this will come in handy when playing Solo matches.
Many players were surprised that this trick worked.“I want to know what went through your head when you thought ‘hm, I wonder if a chicken can open a vault’ and have it actually work,” one user jokingly commented.
This is a pretty useful trick that many players will probably be trying out for themselves if they don’t have a teammate. Sometimes your teammate might not follow you to the Vault at all, so you can try this method instead.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether or not this is something that Epic Games will investigate and remove in an update patch. So, be sure to try it out as soon as you can if you want to open Vaults quickly.
