Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 already has a ton of confirmed game modes for launch, but fans of the franchise believe an “underrated game mode” needs to return.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly which element of the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 title that CoD fans are most looking forward to. From the newest exhilarating campaign to the Battlefield-esque Ground War mode, there’s plenty for players to sink their teeth into.

There are so many different ways that players will be able to absorb the 2022 Modern Warfare 2 experience, but it seems that there is a game mode missing that fans are simply begging for.

Modern Warfare 2 players want the return of NVG mode

Modern Warfare 2019 innovated in a few ways, not least with its choice of game modes. Aside from the debut of Gunfight and Realism modes, Infinity Ward also introduced a new concept called NVG mode.

This amazingly tense game mode adjusted the game’s lighting so that the map was essentially night time and players needed to equip night-vision goggles to be able to see opposition players more clearly.

Reddit user Witty-Alternative628 posed the question: “Do you think MWII should bring back NVG mode?” and the verdict was unanimous.

“100% yes. NVG modes are some of my favorites,” said one user, while another claimed: “Yes! I felt like Night mode offered a really cool, laid-back, and immersive experience. It was one of their highlighted modes in all the advertising but got buried soon after the game launched. It honestly had so much going for it.”

Another comment that was roundly approved of was the potential for an “NVG Ground War type map” that could offer up an insane match of 100+ players all competing at night time.

The Reddit post was a rare instance in which practically every user believed that NVG mode should return in some capacity, and with Modern Warfare 2 set for tons of new content coming after launch, it could easily happen.
