It seems that Treyarch is already hard at work in trying to bring back lots of classic CoD maps to BOCW. A leaker has suggested that the developer is currently hard at work on as many as 8 remakes.

Some people take excpetion to devs remaking old maps instead of coming up with new and innovative ones. But at the end of the day, old content is still new content for BOCW.

Extra maps, in whatever form they may take, should always be welcomed. The recent addition of Raid has proved that there’s nothing wrong with some healthy nostalgia to keep fans invested.

8 map remakes coming to BOCW

Back in the day, Raid was an extremely popular map because of its setting and well thought-out layout. So CoD fans were more than accepting in seeing its return in Black Ops Cold War.

So when a well-known Call of Duty leaker says that Treyarch is actively working on 8 remakes for the online multiplayer, fans understandably become excited. New maps are a calculated gamble for devs because you can easily spend hours and hours working on a brand new map, only for the community to hate it.

It’s naturally just easier to give an old favorite a lick of paint.

Popular CoD leaker MW2 OG has indicated that this is the direction that Treyarch is indeed headed. In a recent Tweet, the leaker suggested that each new season of BOCW is going to continue to roll out old maps.

MW2 OG has leaked many important details in the past. So there is plenty of reason to believe the leak and salivate at the prospect of returning favorites.

This will now lead to speculation as to what we could see in the future. Will we be testing our aim one more time in Firing Range? Only time will tell.

What we do know is that if any of this information becomes more solid, you’ll be the first to know.
