CoD: Mobile players beg for major nerfs to overpowered Persistence Perk

It seems that the Persistence Perk is starting to get to some players in CoD: Mobile and think that the Killstreak-saving Perk needs to be addressed and nerfed.

As we’ve come to expect with every new season of CoD: Mobile, Season 10 has once again delivered new guns, new maps, and even more hours of frantic Call of Duty combat for handheld users.

But whilst players are having fun making use of the new goodies on offer, many continue to be frustrated by the devs apparent dismissal of the Persistence Perk.

The equippable ability allows players to keep their Scorestreak progress intact on death, at the cost of each Scorestreak cost being doubled. But this stays this way for the whole game, almost guaranteeing some of the top Scorestreaks.

Persistence does prevent players from earning more than one of each Scorestreak in a game though, so it does have some drawbacks.

Despite this, multiple posts on the CoD: Mobile subreddit have attacked the Persistence Perk and are keen for it to be reworked. One user posted: “I have been playing this game since Season 1 and have never used Persistence, but today, I was watching Ferg’s stream and saw the absolute wrath of Persistence, and so I equipped it. This is my first 2 games with Persistence.”

They attached a couple of screenshots to the post, each showing the player dominating each game and comfortably finishing as MVP in both games.

One of the top comments suggests that perhaps it’s not Persistence that is causing all the issues, but more the Streaks themselves.

“It’s not Persistence that is the problem, it is stuff like Clusters, Napalms, and Orbital Lasers that are. Ferg is p*ssed with Persistence because the Persistence users, more often than not, do not get enough points for a VTOL, so they spam stuff like Air Strikes, Napalms, Orbital Lasers, etc,” they said.

This point seemed to be backed up by another Reddit thread for the game titled: “I still don’t have an answer. How to counter Persistence Airstrikes?”

The insinuation is that Airstrikes are regularly called in every game, with a large portion of them coming as a result of the Persistence Perk. As such, it leaves players to be peppered by these high-powered Scorestreaks regularly, every match.

A final post contained a poll with three different potential options on how to deal with the Perk, with just over 28% of people asking for a nerf, just under 25% of people asking for a buff, and just under 47% asking for it to be reworked.

It’s clear and obvious that not everyone is happy with the Persistence Perk, but with the obscene amount of content that the devs are juggling with in the game, it’s a tough call as to whether or not they’ll change the Perk.
