CoD UK Twitter hilariously trolls Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp for being down
Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp mysteriously went down for several hours, but that didn’t stop Call of Duty UK’s Twitter from hilariously trolling the platforms.
With millions of people using Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp daily, it’s no surprise that their being down caused an uproar online. In fact, the outages were all most people could talk about online.
Three of the most popular social platforms went down with no reason for their outages. However, these outages did not affect Twitter.
Many Twitter users used the remaining platform to poke fun at Facebook headquarters. While it may have been an inconvenience for many, it did produce some hilarious memes, with the Call of Duty UK Twitter account providing one of the best by referencing Warzone.
Amid the outages, CoD UK posted an image of what looked like a Squad on the verge of being eliminated in Warzone. However, the names of the players were changed.
The three downed “players” were Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The last remaining player was, of course, Twitter. With Twitter being the last player alive, it is up to them to complete the mission.
And as the day went on, Twitter completed the mission of staying alive. However, the outages at Facebook HQ are more severe than a minor outage.
Why Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp went down?
Social platforms experiencing short outages every now and then aren’t too uncommon. They can happen for several reasons, including high server traffic, scheduled maintenance, etc. Yet, the Facebook outage is derivative of “network issues.”
According to The Verge, the outages broke nearly all of the internal systems Facebook employees use to communicate and work. Facebook engineers have been sent to U.S. data centers to help fix the issues. However, this is Facebook’s most severe outage in years.
Mike Schroepfer, Facebook’s Chief Technology Officer, tweeted that the team was experiencing network issues but was working as fast as possible to restore its services.
For those who don’t use Facebook, this may not have been as big of an event as it was to others. Nonetheless, it has been fun enjoying all of the memes with Call of Duty UK providing one of the funniest, especially for Call of Duty: Warzone fans.
