CoD: Vanguard Campaign characters

The Campaign of CoD: Vanguard will see players witness the birth of special forces, as a hand-picked unit of soldiers from across the world are tasked with stopping the Nazi party from rising to power again after their defeat and creating a Fourth Reich.

Task Force One is the name of this legendary unit. It consists of a group of characters that all bring their unique skill set to the team tasked with stopping Project Phoenix, the Nazi’s secret plan to gain power once again following Hitler’s defeat.

Arthur Kingsley, Polina Petrova, Lucas Riggs, Wade Jackson, and Richard Webb make up the group of CoD: Vanguard Campaign characters that players will play as, while Hermann Wenzel Freisinger is a Nazi Officer. The latter will serve as the main antagonist of Call of Duty: Vanguard.

You can find all of the CoD: Vanguard Campaign characters bios below:

Sergeant Arthur Kingsley

Arthur Kingsley in cod Vanguard

“The heart and leader of Task Force One, Kingsley was born in the Douala region of Cameroon before attending University of Cambridge and enlisted in the British Army. A man of nobility whose parents encouraged his multilingualism — he speaks English, German, French, Portuguese, and Bantu, both the Equatorial and Northern dialects — Kingsley saw politics always being discussed at the dinner table, and as a kid, his mother would read him his favorite book, The Three Musketeers, every night.

While Kingsley is a natural-born leader, he fears falling into the traditional patterns of the British Army, over-deliberating at times when his soldiers may be faced with a life-threatening situation. However, that all represents a near-unrivaled care for those who serve beside him, and Kingsley works every day to not only protect them, but also earn their respect.

To his core, Arthur is a kind soul with a warm but mischievous smile. He takes things to heart and harbors deep empathy for those close to him. He loves the comfort and warmth of his home life and family, and longs for peace time to return.

However, Arthur harbors a deep resentment: despite understanding the wrongs of the world, he is unable to right them. To that point, hehas a strong sense of loyalty to fight against the Nazis to help protect his home and put an end to the dangerous ideas Nazism propagates.”

Lieutenant Polina Petrova

Polina Petrova in cod vanguard

“Born and raised in Stalingrad, Polina Petrova is a soldier not by choice, but by a need to defend her country.

Stalingrad was her childhood home, one where she lived many happy memories, including hunting with her father and brother. Although she lost her mother a decade prior to the war, her reality was even more impacted by the brutal Axis invasion of Operation Barbarossa. Using the sharpshooting skills, she learned from her family, Petrova’s story is one of vengeance and retribution for all that she and her community lost.

Polina is a woman of few words, but when she speaks, it is with purpose and often leaves a powerful impact. She’s content in her own company, only opening up to those she trusts and respects deeply with sharp and educated wit.

Although she barely shares what is on her mind, her actions speak for her opinions. Often, she takes matters into her own hands and never waits for anyone else, especially when her thirst for vengeance takes over and puts her in a blind rage.

Whether by words or action, Polina is driven by a desire to see her home free from Nazi invaders, and she is not afraid to put this personal pursuit above her duties.”

Private Lucas Riggs

Lucas Riggs

“Lucas Riggs prefers actions over words, and although his personality is far from explosive, his method of dealing with threats is highly combustible.

A child of sheep farmers just outside Melbourne, Australia, Riggs worked with his family to tend the herd and collect wool. When World War II began, he didn’t hesitate to sign up before conscription was even implemented. He was ready to see more of the world and fight a greater evil than the occasional petty mobster in his area.

Riggs can be described as an enigma – he would not take offense to this distinction, as he understands people just as much as others understand him.

To his allies, Riggs is a gentle giant, often being the life of the party, but not one to seek the spotlight. To his enemies, Riggs is an intimidating and brutal warrior of honor. He stands up to wrongdoers and those who start conflicts with blunt force, ironically done via his specialty within the Australian Army: explosives.

Ultimately, Riggs is the definition of passion within a soldier. Valuing his fellow squad mates and country above all else, he wants to show the world what Australians are made of.”

Lieutenant 1st Class Wade Jackson

Wade Jackson

“A product of New York, pilot Wade Jackson is more at home in the sky than he is on the ground… And he is adamant on doing all his own stunts, even if the mission does not call for it.

Growing up in Brooklyn as a first-generation American, Jackson is a rebel who often finds himself first to a fight, especially if it’s about respect for his family. Bright, yet not engaged with traditional schooling, Jackson discovered his love for speed at the age of 16 through an afterschool repair club. He and his friends often took the vehicles at the shop for joyrides on the newly opened Interboro Parkway, where he would be the only daredevil able to tame the road’s dangerous curves at high speeds.

His newfound rigor for adrenaline paid off after high school, when he was accepted into the Navy’s enlisted aviation cadet program and earned his pilot’s wings in a dive bomber. Since then, he has become a true force in the Pacific.

Charismatic and enthusiastic, Wade enjoys a challenge and relishes the prospect of showing off his natural talents in the spotlight to prove he’s the best. He is egotistical and considers himself special, believing he can fix every problem through bold action.

As the daring hotshot of the group, Wade would rather be a lone wolf, but welcomes competent team members if they don’t get in his way.”

Sergeant Richard Webb

Richard Webb

“Although he shares the same rank as his squad mate, Arthur Kingsley, Sergeant Richard Webb is Kingsley’s right-hand man, friend, and confidant.

Webb grew up in a family of academics, following in his parent’s footsteps in pursuing a professorship track at the university where they worked. In doing so, he had no intention of fighting in World War II; he felt secure that his graduate work would make him exempt from service. However, the draft called for him and he reluctantly joined the army.

He knows his country needs him for the war, but he sees no honor in the duty. Rather, he sees soldiering as a job that must be done if there is any hope of life returning to normalcy.

With no illusions of glory nor passion to volunteer for a high-risk assignment, Webb often takes a cautious and calculated approach to every conflict, using his intelligence based in realism to come to a correct decision. Indeed, Webb believes his choice is always right, and his stubbornness derails discussions just as much as his perceived pessimism for how a situation could go wrong.

Webb’s defining moment is during Operation Tonga, where his style of leadership and that of Arthur Kingsley reaches a breaking point. What happens then – and Webb’s ultimate decision to join Task Force One – is up to you to discover in Vanguard’s Campaign.”

SS Oberst-Gruppenführer Hermann Wenzel Freisinger

Hermann Wenzel Freisinger

“The main antagonist of Vanguard’s Campaign, Freisinger is an ambitious and arrogant Nazi Officer, working at the Gestapo’s Berlin Headquarters. He is chief interrogator of the SS and the secret architect of the mysterious Project Phoenix.

Born as an only child to a wealthy family with a long history of military service, Freisinger served as a courier and information analyst during the later years of the Great War. Following that, he served in the military police and then the Gestapo, rising quickly through the Nazi Party through his cunning and tactical wit.

Ruthless and charismatic, Freisinger makes everyone in the room feel special, but uses this charisma to manipulate people into telling him what he needs to know. He is always trying to maximize what he can gain out of an individual, be it a colleague or an enemy, analyzing and remembering every tiny detail about them to get what he needs.

Freisinger’s goal is to live up to his family reputation within the military and continue the great lineage of his namesake. He does not see much value in winning individual battles, as he understands that to win the war, you must outsmart and outmaneuver your opponents.

Ultimately, Freisinger is willing to sacrifice anything – and anyone – to ensure that Project Phoenix is realized.”

There is no doubt that these CoD: Vanguard Campaign characters will deliver an exciting experience for Call of Duty players when November 5 rolls around.

Vanguard Season 3 Reloaded brings Sphere map

Vanguard’s Season 3 update brought the chaotic Mayhem map, styled after a Godzilla-themed movie set, and the Season 3 Reloaded update is set to bring the Sphere map.

Sphere will take the action to an underground weapons lab hidden beneath a coal mine. It seems players will have to juggle between two floors of the map. On the top floor, players can find the remnants of a coal-mining village. Meanwhile, the secrets of the weapons lab are hidden underground on the bottom floor.

The third and final member of Task Force Harpy will be coming to Vanguard alongside the midseason update.

Vanguard players furious with lack of content in Season 3 Reloaded

While Warzone received a ton of Season 3 Reloaded updates, Vanguard players feel they’ve been completely ignored by the mid-season update.

While Warzone has received a ton of game-changing content with the Season 3 Reloaded update, Vanguard has barely received anything and furious players feel like they’ve been ignored.

While Call of Duty games receive major content drops with the seasonal updates, there’s almost always a ‘Reloaded’ mid-season update that brings even more content, bug fixes, and balance tweaks.

Warzone players are delighted with Season 3 Reloaded’s huge content drop, bringing an Underground Transit System, new game modes, and more, but not long after feeling ignored by the Operation Monarch event, Vanguard players have been left disappointed with the lack of content.

sphere map in vanguard season 3

Raven Software and Sledgehammer dropped the Season 3 Reloaded roadmap on May 23, revealing a ton of new content for Warzone. Players felt the Vanguard section was particularly sparse, with the Sphere map being the only piece of Vanguard-exclusive content.

Vanguard Season 3 Reloaded will also bring the new H4 Blixen SMG, a new Operator, and new bundles  — but these are all shared with Warzone. To compare, Black Ops Cold War Season 3 Reloaded brought the 80s Action Hero event, Standoff to multiplayer, Duga to multi-team modes, Zombies updates, and more.

Twitter user ‘xFleXy_’ shared the content discrepancy between Vanguard and Warzone, and said they’ve “never seen a COD so poorly supported.” This was shared on the Vanguard subreddit where players vented their frustration.

“How tf is this ok?” asked one user. “They don’t even try to hide the fact they do not care about the traditional multiplayer community. Warzone is their bread and butter, and we should absolutely be livid about this.”

“Why couldn’t they add a map/gamemode from COD WW2 or something?? I feel like that would be pretty cool,” suggested u/NebNegreb.

A handful of players commented that it’s only a mid-season update, but Cute_Cookie563 said: “factor in that the actual season 3 update last month was tiny (one map, 2 guns?) and in total barely nothing new has happened this season.”

Many of these players believe that Sledgehammer Games have given up on Vanguard and are hoping that Modern Warfare 2 will be chock-full of traditional multiplayer updates.

How to unlock H4 Blixen SMG in Vanguard & Warzone Season 3 Reloaded

Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 3 Reloaded brings the new H4 Blixen SMG, so here’s how you’ll be able to unlock it when it arrives.

Published

on

h4 Blixen unlock challenge

The H4 Blixen SMG is one of the brand-new weapons arriving during Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 3 Reloaded, so here’s when it’s set to arrive and how you’ll be able to unlock it.

Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 3 Reloaded is almost here, bringing a new map, Operator, and of course, a new weapon. The M1916 Marksman Rifle and the Nikita AVT Assault Rifle arrived as part of the Battle Pass, but a new SMG is set to arrive with the midseason update.

‘Classified Arms’ is Season 3’s theme, and the devs really kept info concerning the H4 Blixen SMG classified. However, we do know when it will arrive, so here’s how you’ll be able to unlock it in both Warzone and Vanguard Season 3 Reloaded.

How to unlock H4 Blixen in Warzone & Vanguard

vanguard players fighting in Season 3

You will be able to unlock the H4 Blixen by getting three slide kills in a single match 15 times. This SMG-based challenge is great for players who love to get around the map with the slide movement mechanic.

Later in Season 3, players could also purchase a Store Bundle that features a Blixen Weapon Blueprint. The H4 Blixen won’t be available until Vanguard and Warzone Season 3 Reloaded content goes live on May 25.

Each Vanguard season has brought a new SMG in the Reloaded update, such as the Welgun in Season 1 and the Armaguerra in Season 2 Reloaded. These two weapons quickly became powerhouses, so we expect the H4 Blixen to be the same.

In a May 23 blog post, the devs claimed that the H4 Blixen can rival the dominant Owen Gun, “the H4 Blixen delivers a reliable three-shot kill at a farther range than the Owen Gun, albeit with a slower rate of fire. It also has three more bullets per standard magazine and slightly better Vertical Recoil Control, Aim Down Sight (ADS) speed, and reload quickness.”

For more on Warzone and Vanguard Season 3, you can check out devs confirmed that 120Hz will return to Xbox Series consoles soon or how to get the Apex Phase Rifle Owen Gun Blueprint.
