Activision appears to have re-confirmed in a new social post about careers available at the company that Call of Duty: Warzone is in development for mobile devices including iOS and Android.

The company posted a message last week on their official LinkedIn page regarding Mobile job listings available within the company. This message appears to confirm that Call of Duty: Warzone is in development for mobile devices.

“Activision Mobile has put up new roles! Teams are focused on Live Operations and content expansion across CoD Mobile and Warzone,” says the message posted to the LinkedIn page. It also states that the “dev teams are dedicated to mobile and comprised of all major disciplines” including production, engineering, art, design, and marketing.

This is not the first time that Activision has mentioned Call of Duty: Warzone being in development for mobile devices.

Back in September 2020, Activision posted a job listing for “Executive Producer, Mobile” which stated that this person would work to bring “Warzone’s features” to mobile devices.

The job listing specifically said that this role would be focused on how to “harvest, adapt and deliver the essential features from Warzone console and PC into their best mobile instantiation.” After the listing was widely reported on, Activision deleted it from their site.

And, back in March 2021, Activision sent out a survey about Call of Duty: Mobile and had references to Warzone and Verdansk coming to the mobile game.

Activision has been on a hiring spree recently, with openings in numerous areas of their business including mobile. The company has over 50 job listings on their website currently specifically for mobile developers to work on a new “mobile title” at the company.

It also appears Activision might be investing in a mobile development team at Beenox, their studio based out of Quebec, Canada. Multiple new job listings are their site for mobile developers are based in the Beenox studio. Beenox as a studio has been contributing to Call of Duty as the lead PC developers for the franchise, and has contributed to Warzone’s development.

Activision currently has one mobile game, Call of Duty: Mobile. The title recently passed 500 million downloads. The title is developed by TiMi Studios, a Tencent owned studio, and published by Activision. With Activision expanding its in house mobile development team, it looks like the company wants to become a mobile powerhouse internally versus relying on external partners.

The company’s executives confirmed they are focused on mobile games alongside their console & PC development. Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick mentioned during the company’s May 4th investor call that they want to expand their player base to over 1 billion players, and mobile games are part of that approach.

Activision has not officially announced Call of Duty: Warzone for mobile as of now.
