Cold War dev responds to Zombies Custom Mods blocking Dual Pistols
Custom Mods have finally returned to Black Ops Cold War Zombies, but a bug is preventing the system to be used with Dual Wield pistols, and Treyarch have responded to the issue.
Treyarch has previously tried to implement Custom Mods to Black Ops Cold War Zombies, but issues with the system caused it to be temporarily removed. The feature has finally returned with the Season 3 Reloaded update, although there are still some teething problems.
After you buy a weapon from the wall or receive it from a Mystery Box, you can apply one of your purchased Blueprints to that weapon. Following the Season 3 Reloaded update, you can now apply your own Custom Mods to your weapons through the same menu. However, players are unable to do this with dual pistols, and Treyarch has responded to the issue.
Currently, if you have Dual Wield pistols in Cold War Zombies, you will not get the option to apply a Custom Mod to them. And perhaps even more frustrating, if you try to apply one of your own Custom Mods with Dual Wield equipped, the akimbo feature will not carry over.
A Reddit user shared on the CoD Zombies subreddit that “Custom Mods don’t work for dual wields,” outlining the problems with the new system.
Treyarch’s community manager Josh “FoxhoundFPS” Torres responded, saying that, “We’re tracking issues for mods not applying to weapons that are dual-wielded and those which are single and are intended to be dual-wield after the custom mod is applied.”
Players have also reported that if you don’t own a Blueprint for a specific weapon, you can’t access the Custom Mods screen, even if you have one saved. There are also reports that if you try to swap from one Custom Mod to another mid-game, “you will get a UI Error and cannot exit the pause menu.”
Treyarch have been aware of issues with Zombies Custom Mods in the past, so will likely be on top of these new issues with the highly-anticipated feature.
