Treyarch has confirmed that a raft of weapon balances will be heading for Black Ops Cold War altering Assault Rifles, Snipers, and more.

An interesting Tweet from Cold War devs Treyarch has got fans wondering what weapon balancing changes we can expect to see as the latest Call of Duty game approaches Season 3 Reloaded.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has done a pretty good job of having a well-balanced set of guns without the same one or two being prominent in every loadout. Regardless, Treyarch has still done its utmost to maintain a consistent balance throughout the game’s lifespan, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.

A recent Tweet has indicated that another batch of weapon changes are on the way in a bid to keep the game’s selection of weapon fresh and viable. This will include “Sniper Rifles, Assault Rifles, LMGs, and Pistols.”

With Season 3 Reloaded on the horizon for both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, a few changes and additions are expected to arrive for both games.

Cold War should hopefully be receiving its long-awaited mini battle royale mode, the Standoff map, and both games have been enjoying some nice publicity because of the acquisition of Rambo and John McClane as in-game skins.

We know for definite that along with the aforementioned weapon changes, we will also see updates for Zombies amongst other things.

It’s interesting to note that SMGs will remain untouched, meaning that powerhouses such as the LC10 and PPSH-41 will continue to operate at their normal capacity.

But the other classes will have to hold their breath and see what Treyarch has planned for them. They could be buffed, nerfed, or a healthy mixture of both.

A big detail that’s been noticed by many is the “Sniper Rifles” adjustment tease, as we could see one or the other of the Swiss K31 being turned into a potent one-hit machine and even the fixing of Sniper glint.

New Cold War Sai weapon exploit lets Zombies players skip doors

Black Ops Cold War players have discovered an exploit with the Sai melee weapon that lets them skip doors in Zombies mode.

A new exploit has been discovered with Black Ops Cold War’s new Sai melee weapon which lets players skip through the first door in the Firebase Z map in Zombies.

Black Ops Cold War Zombies received some new content in the Season 5 Reloaded update, including a new Black Chest World Event in Outbreak, a Rampage Inducer for round-based maps, and a brand-new weapon.

A new melee weapon called the Sai became available for players as part of The Numbers event. Now, players have discovered that this weapon actually lets them skip through doors in Zombies mode.

Various players reported being able to go through the first door at Firebase Z while they had the Sai equipped. This led to a response from lead developer Mark Maestas, who was well aware of the situation.

Surprisingly, the developer talked about this exploit with enthusiasm. “Dear Zombies players, yes you can skip the first door in Firebase Z,” tweeted Maestas. “Zombies can come and greet you too. GLHF!”

While these kinds of things are often addressed in update patches, Mark’s response makes it seem like the developers aren’t currently planning on doing anything to fix this exploit.

With this exploit, players will be able to access greater levels of Zombies much quicker than before, and the undead will be able to come to them as well.

It’s possible that the developers are going to avoid fixing this one exploit so that they can focus on fixing the Zombies’ pathfinding instead, ensuring that the exploit doesn’t ruin the game.

cod cold war ak-47

As with every Call of Duty game, the AK-47 is a tank of an Assault Rifle with some exciting but manageable recoil. Here is how you can make the best Cold War AK-47 loadout in Season 5.

In a game primarily defined by the strength of its SMGs such as the TEC-9 and LC10, Cold War does boast some quality Assault Rifles with a quick time-to-kill. You’ll need some awesome firepower in Season 5.

The firepower of the AK-47 has never been in question, and it has become even more powerful as the season progress. Following Season 5 Reloaded, the AK remains one of the best choices available, and our AK-47 loadout will see to the choppy recoil and make the gun a great addition to your loadout.

Best AK-47 loadout attachments for Cold War Season 5

  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Barrel: 20″ Liberator
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Magazine: 40 Rnd
  • Handle: GRU Elastic Wrap

Given how potent the AK-47 is on its own in Black Ops Cold War, we think you’ll only need five attachments, so we would recommend selecting Perk Greed as a Wildcard.

The AK-47 has pretty clean iron sights, so you’re safe to leave the irons and add a barrel attachment instead. We recommend the 20″ Liberator for an all-important boost to its bullet velocity. Buffs in Cold War Season 5 also reduced the Suppressors bullet velocity penalty, so it’s well worth using on your AK-47.

One of the biggest things we’re trying to secure for the AK is its accuracy and recoil, and the Spetsnaz Grip is one of the most significant ways to lock it down. The GRU Elastic Wrap offers a healthy boost to ADS to improve its speed and mobility, and the 40 Rnd mag allows us some spare shots.

Best Perks to run with the AK-47 in Cold War Season 5

  • Perk 1: Tactical Mask & Flak Jacket
  • Perk 2: Assassin & Gearhead
  • Perk 3: Ghost & Gung-Ho

With Perk Greed, you have six options to choose. The AK-47 is strong at all distances, especially with the extra bullet velocity the barrel provides.

Tactical Mask will prevent non-lethal equipment from disrupting you, and Flak Jacket provides the usual immunity to explosives – a regular occurrence in Cold War.

Assassin is fantastic for extra points, and Quartermaster lets you use more equipment to stop people sneaking up on you.

Ghost is a universally loved perk that hides you from radar, and Gung-Ho is useful for extra mobility and a quick weapon switching if your ammo runs dry.
