Ahead of Battlefield 2021’s official reveal on June 9, content creators have started receiving cryptic teasers that come together to create a full message, which has now been deciphered.

Battlefield V received its final update in November 2020. After DICE confirmed Battlefield 6 would release in late 2021, the community has been desperate for any update. Although there have been a ton of leaks surrounding the game, EA and DICE have kept their cards close to their chest.

After revealing that Battlefield 6 was “built for next-gen” in April, they also said that the game would be revealed “soon.” Battlefield’s Twitter account then teased that the game would be revealed in June, and then we got confirmation that the reveal would occur on June 9.

Now, four days ahead of the official reveal, Battlefield sent a cryptic teaser to various content creators.

On June 4, content creators received a transmission transcript from the official Battlefield Twitter account with certain words redacted. It appears to be a military transmission that has been intercepted by the “USS Ravenrock – Naval Signal Corps.” Ravenrock is a United States mountain range that houses a nuclear bunker and is said to be an “underground Pentagon.”

Once more and more creators published their message, the community soon realized that they would need to be pieced together to reveal the full message.

After all of the teasers had been revealed, the full message was put together.

The Battlefield 2021 teaser reads:

Some of you want to return home – that most human of all instincts.
With a heavy heart, I must tell you the truth. You have no home to return to.
The question we must ask ourselves now is:
Do we accept our fate? Or do we dare to fight for a better world?
No one may force you into battle, but I say to all who can hear my voice:
If you can fire a gun, if you can tend a wound, if you can cr[y] havoc–
Those who cannot – need you. We need you.
War is the only way home.

From this information, it appears the world as we know it is gone, with people having “no home to return to.” It also appears that soldiers and medics, perhaps civilians too, are being asked to fight, as “War is the only way home.”

Notable leaker and industry insider Tom Henderson believes that this lines up with the information he received where you will play as soldiers from fallen nations after a worldwide disaster has struck.

Henderson has also theorized that perhaps another Battlefield 2021 teaser in the form of a Russian transition will come in soon too, but we’ll need to wait and see what Battlefield has in store ahead of the official reveal on June 9.
