Counter-Strike 2 players warmly welcomed the latest game update in which Valve introduced the highly anticipated CS2 Workshop. This allows users to create and play custom maps in Counter-Strike 2.

After many criticisms towards Valve and the development team, the CS2 community finally has something to celebrate. According to the latest update of Counter-Strike 2, Valve introduced the maps Workshop, one of the most popular features in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive that was not available in CS2.

In the statement, Valve expresses that “Community map makers can start uploading their maps to the Workshop, and community servers can host those maps. If you’d like to try some Workshop maps offline, subscribe to them on the Workshop and head to the Play menu.”

Now, players can once again play the famous custom maps that have brought so many moments of fun to the Counter-Strike franchise, such as community maps like Poolparty, Iceworld, Rats, and many more. However, thanks to this update, it is also expected that many training maps like Aim and Recoil maps, and a large number of 1v1 custom maps will be added.

The celebration of this Workshop update was unanimous. From casual players to content creators and professional CS2 players, they have all expressed their gratitude for this new update, mentioning that it’s a “Massive W” for Valve.

This feature was one of the most requested by the community and also one of the strongest criticisms that players had towards Valve when launching CS2, many players noting that it was one of the most “desperately needed” updates.

However, while they strongly celebrate the return of Workshop maps, the community still hopes that Valve will address many of the game’s issues and add more content such as game modes, and traditional maps like Train, Cobblestone, Cache, and many more.

At the moment, Valve has not mentioned these possible new additions to CS2, so we’ll have to await further updates. In the meantime, players can enjoy community editions of the aforementioned maps.
