Apex Legends’ L-STAR Energy LMG becomes overheated after being fired continuously but players have discovered a glitch that lets them skip the cooldown time.

When you hop into a game of Apex Legends, you’ll find 28 powerful weapons to choose from, including the L-STAR Energy LMG that you can use to cause some serious pain in close-range combat.

This LMG makes use of weapon stacks instead of standard ammo, which means that it’ll need to be cooled down after firing for a bit. Now, players have discovered a glitch that lets you get past the cooldown time.

L-STAR Energy LMG in Apex Legends

Reddit user ‘jacknoyan’ highlighted this glitch in the Apex Legends subreddit, pointing out that removing the magazine on your L-Star will completely reset its overheat meter. So, you won’t need to wait for it to cool down before firing again.

The clip posted by the Redditor showcased them using the LMG to fire at targets in the Firing Range. After the weapon became overheated, they removed the magazine and immediately added it back.

This glitch allowed them to keep firing long shots without having to worry about the cooldown timer. If players were to utilize this in combat, they could turn the L-Star Energy LMG into an unstoppable killing machine.

While this trick seems useful, a few Redditors pointed out that you are a much easier target to hit when you enter your inventory. So, you’ll need to be able to do this extremely fast in order for the glitch to give you an advantage during battles.

At the time of writing, it remains to be seen whether or not this issue will be patched up by the developers. Since the glitch is extremely difficult to recreate during intense gunfights, it’s unlikely that many players will try to exploit it.

One of the commenters in the thread wrote: “Honestly, don’t even remove this. This is so difficult to do well that it’s just tech at this point. If you can pull it off and make it useful then you deserve it.”
