Cristiano Ronaldo’s FIFA 23 rating slashed after move to Saudi Arabia
Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo has seen his FIFA 23 rating drop to its lowest score in 12 years after his high-profile move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.
Player ratings always get the FIFA community talking, and FIFA 23 is no exception. Before the latest and final game of EA’s long-running series launched in 2022, there was plenty of debate about who should top the rankings ahead of the new season.
The FIFA 23 ratings for Ultimate Team and Career Mode marked the first time in many years that Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo was outside of the top 10, sparking plenty of anger among his fans.
However, following Ronaldo’s highly publicized move to Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, the Portugal forward has received another downgrade.
FIFA 23 new Cristiano Ronaldo rating
After being removed from Manchester United’s roster in offline modes, Ronaldo had his overall player rating reduced to 88. This is two lower than his original 90-rated card that players have been using in Ultimate Team.
His in-game stats have also taken a hit, with many of his key features losing valuable points. Ronaldo’s dribbling has fallen from 84 to 81, while his stamina is now 70 from 74. This downgrade marks the first time since FIFA 11 that the five-time Ballon D’Or winner has had a rating less than 90.
It’s also the lowest-rated card he’s had since 2007, just after breaking through during his first spell at Manchester United.
For now, this downgrade is limited to offline modes like Career Mode and Kick-Off. An Al Nassr version of Ronaldo will be added to Ultimate Team down the line, but it will likely retain the 90-rating that he received at the start of the season.
While EA produce new cards for players that have moved teams, they have moved away from mid-season upgrades and downgrades in Ultimate Team specifically.
Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a two-year contract with Al Nassr, keeping him in Saudi Arabia until 2025. Depending on his performances with the new club, we’ll have to wait and see how his rating evolves in EA SPORTS FC 24 and beyond.
