Apex Legends fans noticed some neat anime references within the new teaser dropped by Respawn, with images for My Hero Academia and Death Note, along with a few others.

Respawn Entertainment like to create hype among the Apex Legends community by sporadically releasing teasers that show off upcoming content. Now, a new one has caught the attention of fans because of its various easter eggs.

While Apex fans were initially just focusing on was the statue of a Valkyrie that has been connected to the upcoming Legend named Valk, a few eagle-eyed viewers were able to notice some hidden anime references as well.

Apex Legends roster

The new Apex Legends teaser image showcased a room on a spaceship which bares close resemblance to Wattson’s room, as revealed in a previous teaser. Looking closer at the stacked shelves on the right reveals various hints.

The shelf has Portion a Nessie toy, along with the Land of the Lustrous and My Hero Academia manga. If you look at the bottom of the shelf, you can also spot a stack of Death Note chapters next to the Valkyrie statue.

These are surprising additions that the developers deliberately left in the image, and now Apex fans are speculating how this will affect the future of the battle royale.

When Apex Legends released on the Nintendo Switch, Respawn Game Director, Chad Grenier stated the Season 9 character would appeal to Japanese players. These references could be a clue about the Legend’s interest in manga.

Respawn also released weapon charms and a limited-edition Pathfinder skin for Nintendo players, which lines up with Grenier’s promise to “deliver unique content to Japan” in Apex Legends. We might see more anime-themed content added later.

The image also contains a reference to thea Apex Predators from Titanfall on a piece of paper lying on the desk. With Season 9 on the horizon, we expect plenty more surprises to come in the next few months.

Apex Legends Ranked: How does rank reset work?

For those wondering how Apex Legends rank reset works in ranked splits, we’ve got all the details covered for you so you know all of the info.

Apex Legends Ranked Rank Reset

Apex Legends has a great ranked system that is split over two periods, for those unsure as to how your rank is reset over these periods, here’s how it works.

Apex Legends Season 10 has been a bit of a rollercoaster in terms of the player experience. The content has been great, with the most recent Evolution Collection Event introducing loads of new cosmetics and even a Rampart Town Takeover on World’s Edge.

Having said that, the servers have been inconsistent and due to the issues, the first ranked split for this season was extended.

For those new to the popular battle royale, or perhaps just new to the Ranked Leagues, here’s how the Apex Legends rank reset works once the split is over.

Apex Legends Season 10’s first ranked split is about to end, with the first split being played on World’s Edge, the second split will take players back to Kings Canyon.

For more information on Apex Legends Ranked Leagues, check out our article on the recent changes. Now, Let’s get into exactly how Apex Legends rank reset works

How does rank reset work in Apex Legends?

Since Apex Legends Season 3, Respawn has split the ranked season into two halves, each spanning one and half months.

At the end of the first split, players will experience a “soft reset” for the second half of the ranked season, which sees their rank reduced by 1.5 tiers.

That means if you ended the first split in Gold II, you will see an Apex Legends rank reset to Silver IV when the second ranked split begins.

Apex Predators, which is the players in the top rank, will be reset to Platinum II, so be wary at the start of the split if you make your way to Platinum fast, you’ll be up against some tough competition.

Who is the most popular Apex Legends character? Season 10 pick rates

Apex Legends Season 10 is well into its stride, but who has dominated the pick rates for Season 10 of Respawn’s battle royale?

Published

on

apex legends map

Season 10 is one of Apex Legends’ biggest ever seasons, and it’s welcomed the popular character Seer. But who has the highest pick rates in Season 10 of Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale shooter?

Apex Legends hit the ground running when it launched with eight different characters to choose from in its rival battle royale offering. The game suffered a notable lull when Call of Duty: Warzone launched, but with many players now jumping ship to Respawn’s game, Apex Legends Season 10 is arguably its biggest ever!

There are now a whopping 18 different Legends to choose from, giving players a headache before each game. The newest one is Seer, and after a dominating start to Season 10, the 1.78 update has seen him receive a significant nerf. This has completely changed the game’s pick rates and made the Season 10 meta open again.

Between the Arenas mode and Ranked Leagues to compete in, thousands of matches have already been logged in Season 10, and we will break down and find the Legends with the highest pick rates in Season 10.

Apex Legends Season 10 pick rate ranked list

Here is every Apex Legends pick rate in Season 10 ranked, as of September 24, 2021, according to Apex Legends Status:

  1. Octane – 14.6%
  2. Wraith – 11.4%
  3. Pathfinder – 9.9%
  4. Bloodhound – 9.1%
  5. Lifeline – 8.4%
  6. Valkyrie – 5.2%
  7. Bangalore – 5.1%
  8. Horizon – 4.6%
  9. Seer – 4.4%
  10. Rampart – 4.3%
  11. Loba – 4.2%
  12. Fuse – 3.7%

5. Lifeline – 8.4%

lifeline in Apex Legends Season 10

Just clocking in at the number five spot is Lifeline. Everyone’s favorite healer takes up 8.4% of the Apex Legends’ picks, and for good reason too.

One of the big things that separates Apex Legends from other battle royale games is its lenience towards reviving – specifically Knockdown Shields. It provides lots of time to revive teammates and Lifeline can take advantage of this.

Her Drone of Compassion (or D.O.C) abilities can heal players over time and even revive them without needing Lifeline to do it. Her Care Package Ultimate is a bit weak, but overall, she is a great addition to any team.

4. Bloodhound – 9.1%

apex legends bloodhound character

Again, with the influx of new Apex Legends players, Bloodhound is a great character to use for new players in Season 10.

With nearly a 12% pick rate at the beginning of Season 9, Bloodhound has dipped a bit to 9.1% but still remains the third-most picked Legend. Their pick rate is rising slowly thanks to the alterations to Seer, meaning that Bloodhound is the top Recon class to use in Apex Legends.

Their tracking tools and skills are incredible, and the fleet of foot provided by their Beast of the Hunt Ultimate is priceless.

3. Pathfinder – 9.9%

A beneficiary of the Seer nerfs, Pathfinder has become a part of Apex Legends’ top five picks at 9.9% and counting.

As a Recon class, Pathfinder simply excels in movements and traversing the game’s various maps. His Grappling Hook and Zipline Gun are simply invaluable assets that will help any team in a pinch – either because of the circle or a third-party situation.

2. Wraith – 11.4%

apex legends wraith character

Another starting legend, Wraith possessed a very high pick rate of nearly 14% during Season 9 and is still currently well-selected backed at 11.4%.

Wraith’s stand-out features are her ability to get out of trouble very quickly – teammates included. Her abilities allow her to sense danger, become temporarily invulnerable, and create portals to escape predicaments. It’s easy to see why Wraith continues to be an absolute fan-favorite in Apex Legends Season 10.

1. Octane – 14.6%

apex legends octane character

The king is back on his throne as the game’s number one pick. Although his pick rate isn’t quite in the 20% region like in Season 9, his still undisputedly the primary selection, and rising, at 14.6%.

Aside from his amusing quips, he is the perfect balance of offense and defense. Despite being regarded as an offensive Legend, Octane can greatly increase his sprint speed which is useful for both attack and running away. But most Octane users thrive on his Launch Pad Ultimate which can send him, and friendly players, high up into the air.

You can use this to sneak attack players, reach high-up spots for beacons, escape battles, or use it as a way to get back into the playing zone.

That covers all the picks in Apex Legends Season 10. As always, buffs and nerfs will come and go throughout the season, affecting the game’s meta, and subsequently, Legend pick rates.

We’ll be sure to keep this updated regularly so you can stay on top of the in picks, and don’t forget to check out our tier list of every Apex Legends weapon. Also, read about the potential incomings in Apex Legends Season 11.

Apex Legends Mobile Beta Team Deathmatch mode might be coming to console & PC

Apex Legends new Team Deathmatch mode in the Mobile Beta could also be seen in the console and PC version according to leaks.

Published

on

The latest updates to the Apex Legends Mobile Beta have brought a new 6v6 Team Deathmatch mode, which some players are suggesting will also release on PC and console in the future.

Apex Legends Mobile Beta was released for even more regions on September 24, allowing those who registered to enjoy early access to the battle royales mobile port.

The extension to more regions also brought some new features for the game, such as an upgrade system for Legends and a new Team Deathmatch mode.

The new Team Deathmatch mode may be seen in the PC and Console versions of the game in the future according to code found by dataminers, which may not arrive in Season 10, but rather sometime down the line.

apex legends mobile team deathmatch map

Recent leaks surrounding Apex Legends have revealed various future content such as Wattson’s Heirloom, a new map for Season 11, and an interesting new Legend that was found in the code.

Although the console and PC versions of Apex Legends have suffered since the Evolution Collection Event, with a recent update supposedly fixing all the server issues, the game’s Mobile version is developing nicely.

As well as being able to play the standard battle royale mode and Arenas on Apex Legends mobile, players will now also be able to hop into a Team Deathmatch mode.

The mode features two teams of six, spawning into similar-sized maps as Arenas, with Artillery being the current map available to the mode.

If you’re lucky enough to be participating in the Mobile Beta, you will be able to play this exclusive mode. However, dataminers may have uncovered code that suggests its arrival on PC and console in the future.

Thordan Smash‘s YouTube video regarding Team Deathmatch coming to Apex Legends features Shrugtal, a popular dataminer who has found code suggesting there will indeed be a team-based game mode arriving in the future.

This team-based game mode could either be Team Deathmatch or what Shrugtal is calling “Control,” a point-based mode similar to that of Domination in Call of Duty.

Further, Thordan also featured an interview with someone he claims works for EA, where the employee confirms that there will be a variety of team-based modes coming to Apex Legends in the future: “there will be a bunch of other modes, like capture the flag…or the bomb one.”

These rumors and leaks seem more viable now that the mobile version of Apex Legends has a Team Deathmatch mode in its Closed Beta.

However, it could be a while until we see these modes on PC and console, and they may also be slightly different from the 6v6 Team Deathmatch on mobile.

That’s all for Apex Legends Mobile’s Team Deathmatch mode possibly coming to console and PC. For more, check out everything you need to know about the Apex Legends Halloween Event.
