After weeks of referring to Season 14 of Destiny 2 as [REDACTED], Bungie has finally been able to confirm that it will be called Season of the Splicer. This was announced alongside a cool new trailer showing off exciting new details about the upcoming season.
Fans have spent weeks wondering when Bungie would pull the curtain back on the successor to Season of the Chosen. The next chapter in the Beyond Light journey, Season of the Splicer, will be launching soon.
We already know that Season of the Splicer will include Destiny’s first-ever Raid in Vault of Glass. It will include a World’s First race with more championship belts up for grabs for the winner and will be live on May 22.
But now we know a lot more about Season of the Splicer thanks to the new trailer.
Season of the Splicer trailer
To get eager fans excited, Bungie has shown off the Season of the Splicer trailer, showing players what they can look forward to in the game’s latest chunk of content.
The official description for the trailer says, “The Vex have plunged the Last City into an endless night, threatening the safety once found beneath the watchful presence of the Traveler. It is here, bathed in perpetual moonlight, that Ikora reveals the identity of an unlikely ally that may hold the keys to triumphing over this attack.“

What’s new in Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer?
From a story perspective, Vex has forged their bid to consume humanity by plunging them into a simulation.
Now Guardians have to find Mithrax, one of the last remaining Splicers to help fight the Vex, end the simulation, and destroy the endless night.
New gameplay features
The trailer advertised severnal key details for players to embrace once the season goes live:
- A new activity called “Override” that involves up to 6-player matchmaking
- Armor Synthesis/Transmog in full effect
- Confirmation of Vault of Glass Raid returning
- New Seasonal Pass Exotic – Cryothesia 77K
- A new weekly mission called “Expunge”
Destiny 2 Season of the Slicer will begin on May 11 and finish on Aug 24.
