How to unlock the Touch of Malice in Destiny 2
To unlock the Touch of Malice in Destiny 2, you need to make your way to the King’s Fall Raid. The Exotic Scout Rifle drops from the final Oryx encounter, so you will have to defeat The Taken King if you want this weapon.
However, it’s worth remembering that completing the final encounter does not guarantee a weapon drop. So, instead of running King’s Fall from start to finish, you can just farm the final encounter if you have a checkpoint.
There are a few challenges associated with this Raid, which you can complete if you want to boost your chances of getting the Touch of Malice Exotic Scout Rifle in the game.
How to get Touch of Malice catalyst in Destiny 2
To get the Touch of Malice catalyst in Destiny 2, you need to complete short puzzles within the King’s Fall Raid.
The puzzle is very simple, as the player wielding the Touch of Malice needs to step on specific plates. This will spawn Relics that the others will have to then collect and dunk them at altars within the vicinity. There are four such plates, and here’s where you can find them:
Court of Oryx
The first plate is located at the very first encounter. To get to it, don’t start the encounter. Instead, move through the hallway lined up with the statues until you come to the big altar on the pedestal in the middle.
Take the right and then jump onto the first platform to the left. You should find the first plate here, so with Touch of Malice equipped, stand on the plate.
This should cause four relics to spawn all around the arena. Collect those relics and bring them back to the big central plate where the portal appears. The statue behind the portal is where you need to submit it.
Bear in mind that there will be a short time limit within which you need to deposit all relics. Also, when you pick up the relics, three Shriekers will spawn near the statue. Eliminate them and then deposit the relics.
If done correctly, you will see a message that says, “A statue hums with dark energy.” Once you’ve completed this puzzle, you need to finish the first encounter and then proceed through the King’s Fall Raid.
Golgoroth’s Maze
Inside Golgoroth’s Maze is a secret chest. Right behind the secret chest is the plate that you need to stand on in order to activate the second Touch of Malice Exotic catalyst puzzle in Destiny 2.
To get to this chest, five players will have to stand on five different plates inside the maze. This will open up a door behind which you will find the secret chest. After you’ve stood on the plate, relics will spawn within the maze.
Collect these relics, and come back to where the secret chest was. There’s a pit here, inside which you will find the altar where you need to deposit the relics.
Transcept
This is the final jumping puzzle in the King’s Fall Raid in Destiny 2. Make your way to the end of the chasm, on the platform below the exit. The final plate is here.
Stand on the plate and the relics should spawn once again. Pick up these relics and then travel to the starting point. Once here, use your ghost to spot those phantom platforms. Follow the platforms till you get to the final altar.
After you’ve deposited the relics here, you should be able to access the final room which is filled with relics. Collect these relics and deposit them in the altar.
Once you’ve done that, the players with the Touch of Malice should get the catalyst in Destiny 2.
What does the Touch of Malice catalyst do in Destiny 2?
To use the Touch of Malice catalyst in Destiny 2, you have to get around 700 kills to masterwork it. Once you’ve masterworked that catalyst, you will be able to use it with the weapon.
When unlocked, the catalyst grants the Touch of Malice the Rapid Hit perk, which increases the reload speed of the weapon.
