The Riposte in Destiny 2

The Riposte is a new Legendary Auto Rifle that was added to Destiny 2 as part of The Final Shape expansion, and here is how you can get it with all its God Rolls.

The Final Shape included quite a few new weapons for Destiny 2 players to unlock, including the Riposte – a Legendary Auto Rifle with a Lightweight Frame that’s strong in both PvP and PvE situations.

Here is how you can unlock The Riposte, what its God Rolls look like, and what you can do to farm that Roll.

How to unlock The Riposte in Destiny 2

To unlock The Riposte in Destiny 2, you need to complete seven competitive matches from the PvP playlist.

Navigate to Crucible on your map, and make sure you complete your seven placement matches in the competitive playlist. Once you have finished your matches, you can collect the package containing The Riposte from Lord Shaxx.

The Riposte God Rolls in Destiny 2

The Riposte is one of the easiest weapons to handle in Destiny 2, making it a great choice for both PvP and PvE. Here are the God rolls for each:

PvP God Roll

CategoryPerk/TraitDescription
BarrelFull Bore+15 Range
-10 Stability
-5 Handling
MagazineRicochet Rounds+5 Range
+10 Stability
StockComposite Stock+5 Stability
+5 Handling
Perk 1Zen MomentCausing damage with this weapon reduces recoil and flinch over time.
Perk 2Kill ClipReloading after a kill grants increased damage.

The idea behind this Roll is to get as much range as you can out of The Riposte. It naturally has great recoil and handling, so range will largely become the focus of this Roll.

That being said, Zen Moment and the Composite Stock will still balance the recoil decrease you take with the Full Bore barrel while letting you do more damage. Ricochet Rounds further increase stability and range, making this weapon an absolute killer in PvP situations.

PvE God Roll

CategoryPerk/TraitDescription
BarrelCorkscrew Rifling+5 Range
+5 Stability
+5 Handling
MagazineRicochet Rounds+5 Range
+10 Stability
StockComposite Stock+5 Stability
+5 Handling
Perk 1Zen MomentCausing damage with this weapon reduces recoil and flinch over time.
Perk 2Destabilizing RoundsFinal blows cause nearby targets to become volatile.

This Roll aims to make The Riposte a little more of an all-rounder in PvE situations, especially because you need your weapons to be more versatile in Strikes, Raids, and other activities.

Most importantly, you’ll want Destabilizing Rounds so that enemies can get the volatile effect to damage others in their vicinity – effectively letting you take down waves very quickly. Once again, we’re also looking at Zen Moment for increased stability, and Ricochet Rounds for an extra bit of range.

If you don’t get these Rolls on your first try, you can farm The Riposte again at the weekly reset. Complete the competitive challenge, and you’ll get brand new Rolls each time until you get the ones you need.
