How to unlock stasis Fragments in Destiny 2: Beyond Light

The Stasis subclass is the biggest change to come to Destiny 2 with the new expansion pack. Unlocking Fragments will determine how Stasis works. Its may seem challenging at first to collect them, so we’re going to help make it a bit easier.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light has brought along a plethora of brand new content to the game. Along with new weapons and gear, one of the new additions in the expansion is a subclass called Stasis that allows you to tap into the Darkness. This feature is ambitious because it allows you to adjust your abilities with incredible precision.

Part of the process of unlocking it is to find Fragments to slot into your Guardian’s Stasis subclass. Finding these is lengthy and difficult work so don’t expect a cakewalk. You initially won’t even have access to the Fragments and will need to attempt a couple of quests first and then three Fragment quests.

Fragments alter how your abilities work.

How to access Fragment Quests

First you must finish the Beyond Light Campaign and then talk to the Exo-Stranger. This will unlock the second part of the Born in Darkness quest that you must also complete. Once you have Aspects unlocked, you need to get the Salvation’s Grip exotic grenade launcher.

This weapon will be used in the Aspects quest that you will then have to complete. Do the Aspect of Control quest that requires you to find five Entropic Shards and destroy them. Completing this will reward you with your first Aspect and then you can talk with the Exo-Stranger to get three different Fragment quests.

The Salvation’s Grip exotic grenade launcher will help you in the Aspect quest.

How to unlock Fragments

You are able to attempt two of three Fragment quests each week. These will generally involve you doing things like looting items from enemies or killing guardians. The tasks you get will depend on what you choose between Crucible, Strikes, or Gambit, since they are different for each class.

One example is the Warlock Vanguard Fragment Quest. If you choose this then you will have to take down several frozen and slow opponents. Complete these quests to unlock Fragments that will allow you to alter how your abilities work. You might get a Pinnacle Reward for successful completion of the Crucible and Gambit ones.

Your Aspect will determine exactly how many Fragments you can slot but we don’t recommend attempting all of them right away, except for the Strikes. This is because you will want to hold off on getting a Pinnacle Reward until you absolutely need it later on.
