Vault of Glass Raid set for World’s First race in Destiny 2 Season 14
Not only is Bungie resurrecting the legendary Vault of Glass Raid for Destiny 2 Season 14, but they have also announced that it will also play host to a World’s First race too.
Season of the Chosen is continuing to smash it out the park for Bungie and has treated its players to a myriad of content, with Weekly Challenges and the new Battlegrounds activity.
It won’t be too long until Season 14 starts, and the next chapter in the Beyond Light saga begins. Along with all-sorts of fresh assets for the series, Destiny 2 will unearth a modernized version of the historic Vault of Glass Raid. The first-ever Raid in the franchise clearly holds sentimental value for many players, and they’re set to get more than they bargained for.
As well as the usual trove of rewards and goodies, Bungie has informed players that they will also have to wage war with every other team to see who gets the winner’s belts for finishing first.
Destiny players have become accustomed to a new yearly Raid to look forward to with the launch of each new expansion. Beyond Light introduced the Deep Stone Crypt Raid into the franchise’s lore, and it won’t be too long before players will have to prepare themselves for the next Raid.
In an official Bungie blog post, they said, “Vault of Glass will also launch with both a Contest mode in the first 24 hours and a World First race. Since this is a reprised raid, we’re going to do World First a bit differently.”
The post goes on to say that, “Players looking to claim the belt will not only have to complete the raid, but also a curated list of challenging Triumphs. And while only one fireteam will walk away with a belt, there will be plenty of opportunities for players to earn the ability to purchase some sweet real-world loot through Bungie Rewards.”
This makes the Raid a more tantalizing and intriguing proposition than what players were already suspecting. There’s already an aura of mystery surrounding the Raid as it’s obviously been seen before in its earliest form.
The addition of new Triumphs throws a spanner into the works and will surely alter many fireteam’s strategies with iron-clad tactics and knowledge of the original Raid.
The post also concluded by saying that Vault of Glass will eventually include a much-harder version of its existing state to challenge players: “Before the end of the year we are also looking to add a Master version of Vault of Glass.”
