Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion features a brand-new Raid called Root of Nightmares for players to check out, and here’s everything we know about it, including the exact release date and start time.

Destiny 2 has received a brand-new expansion, and the arrival of Lightfall features a ton of fun new content for players to check out, including a new location known as Neomuna and the Strand subclass.

Lightfall is also set to bring a new Raid for you to complete, giving players another challenging gauntlet to run through. We’ll go over everything that has been announced about the Lightfall Raid so far.

Destiny 2 Lightfall Root of Nightmares Raid release date & start time

The developers confirmed in a blog post that the Root of Nightmares Raid is set to arrive on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM GMT, a full 10 days after the expansion went live.

Before the Raid begins, players will have plenty of time to explore all of the content in the Lightfall expansion and reach the recommended Power Level. If you’re wondering when the Raid will begin in your region then you can look at the table below.

What is the Power Level for the Destiny 2 Lightfall Root of Nightmares Raid?

At the time of writing, the recommended Power Level for the Lightfall Raid has not been confirmed by the developers. It’s likely that we won’t get this information until right before the Raid begins.

Since there are 10 days available to explore the Lightfall expansion’s content, players will have ample time to hit that Power Level ahead of the Raid’s start time. We will also see Contest Mode enabled so that everyone is equally matched for the first 48 hours.

Destiny 2 Lightfall Root of Nightmares Raid gameplay and location details

The devs haven’t revealed concrete details about the gameplay and location of the Root of Nightmares Raid. A teaser explains: “Ferried from an unknown time and place, a haunting presence has been detected. We must now confront the ancient threat growing at our doorstep.”

Destiny 2 Lightfall GuardianDestiny 2 players will have ten days to prepare for the Root of Nightmares Raid.

It’s possible that this Raid might be set in Neomuna, serving as the first piece of endgame content for this new location. Since Calus is important to the story, players may have to battle Cabal or a different enemy type. We’ll be sure to update you once we know more.
