BlizzardSeason 5 has arrived in Diablo 4 with a ton of changes to most classes, which means it’s time to have a look at the best PvE builds this season.
PvE makes up the bulk of gameplay, so whether you’re wondering what classes and builds to use for leveling, endgame, or if you play solo, we’ve got you covered. Here are the best Diablo 4 PvE builds in Season 5.
Best Diablo 4 builds
Early-game builds
Tier | Diablo 4 build |
---|---|
S | – Blood Surge Necromancer, Minion Necromancer – Penetrating Shot Rogue, Barrage Rogue – Chain Lightning Sorcerer, Firewall Sorcerer |
A | – Double Swing, Upheaval Barbarian – Bone Spear Necromancer – Rapid Fire Rogue, Barrage Rogue – Arc Lash Sorcerer, Ice Shards Sorcerer |
B | – HotA Barbarian – Pulverize Druid, Lightning Storm Druid – Sever Necromancer – Death Trap Rogue |
C | – Rend Barbarian – Companion Druid, Landslide Druid – Blight Necromancer |
Sorcerer’s have seen a massive increase in viability in Diablo 4 Season 5, with Firewall and Chain Lightning Sorcerer both being great options for leveling in the early game. Rogue is also the strongest its been in a while, and Barrage Rogue is our favorite pick for a leveling build this season.
Note that the best early-game builds aren’t always the same as the ones that are the best for the endgame since you’ll need characters that can use plenty of ranged or AoE attacks to ensure your build survivability in Nightmare Dungeons, fights with World Bosses, and more.
Mid-game builds
Tier | Diablo 4 build |
---|---|
S | – Bone Spear Necromancer, Blood Surge Necromancer – Twisting Blades Rogue, Penetrating Shot Rogue – Chain Lightning Sorcerer |
A | – Bone Spear Necromancer – Flurry Rogue, Barrage Rogue – Ice Shards Sorcerer, Firewall Sorcerer |
B | – HotA Barbarian – Tornado Druid, Landslide Druid – Sever Necromancer, Blood Lance Necromancer |
C | – Rend Barbarian – Poison Trap Rogue |
Diablo 4’s mid-game starts after beating the main campaign and you unlock the Paragon board at level 50. At this stage, you’ll need to reevaluate your playstyle and think of what kind of enemies Season 5 has prepared for you.
With Sorcerer being the strongest class this season, you may want to continue with your Chain Lightning build as it’s one of the best builds for them. However, if you’re not feeling particularly keen on a Sorc build, Penetrating Shot Rogue and Blood Surge Necromancer are both great alternatives to take you from mid-late game.
Endgame builds
In the table below, we’ve ranked several Diablo 4 builds based on their performance in the endgame when your character is between levels 75 and 100:
Tier | Diablo 4 build |
---|---|
S | – Bleed Barbarian – Landslide Druid – Bone Spirit Necromancer – Penetrating Shot Rogue, Barrage Rogue – Chain Lightning Sorcerer, Firewall Sorcerer |
A | – Upheaval Barbarian – Wind Shear Druid, Wolfpack Druid – Minions Necromancer, Blood Surge Necromancer – Rapid Fire Rogue, Twisting Blades Rogue – Ball Lightning Sorcerer, Blizzard Sorcerer |
B | – HotA Barbarian, Rend Barbarian – Hurricane Druid, Lightning Storm Druid – Arc Lash Sorcerer |
C | – Thorns Barbarian – Storm Claw Druid |
Diablo 4 Season 5 endgame officially begins after you’ve reached level 75, and you’ll have to be ready for the fiercest enemies Sanctuary has in store. Sorcerers stay strong from early to late game with a Chain Lightning build, but Rogues are also showing their teeth – particularly if you use a Penetrating Shot build.
Since a lot of the S Tier builds for endgame match up with leveling builds, this season is looking painless for getting strong quickly so you can tackle Nightmare Dungeons and other endgame activities.
Best solo builds in Diablo 4
Tier | Diablo 4 build |
---|---|
S | – Thorns Barbarian – Hurricane Druid – Bone Spear Necromancer, Summoner Necromancer – Chain Lightning Sorcerer – Penetrating Shot Rogue |
A | – Blood Surge Necromancer – Twisting Blades Rogue, Rapid Fire Rogue – Fireball Sorcerer, Firewall Sorcerer |
B | – Rend Barbarian – Storm Wolf Druid, Lightning Storm Werewolf Druid – Blood Lance Necromancer – Barrage Rogue |
C | – Leap Quake Barbarian – Shapeshifter Druid, Poison Shredder Druid – Sever Necromancer – Poison Trap Rogue |
If you choose to play Diablo 4 solo, you’ll need to make sure to have a character build that has quick mobility, resource efficiency, and high damage output.
Some of the builds with the greatest damage of Diablo 4 aren’t suited for a solo endgame. Having said that, the builds in tiers C and D can excel in team play, but you might struggle by relying on them for solo play.
Rogue is the best class to play solo, but with how strong Sorcerer’s are this season, you may also find success with them as a solo player. The only thing to watch out for is that Sorcerer’s are quite squishy, so you need to manage your rotations well to pull the builds off effectively for solo play.
Diablo 4 builds for Nightmare Dungeons
Tier | Diablo 4 build |
---|---|
S | – Bash Barbarian, Flay Barbarian – Landslide Druid – Bone Spirit Necromancer – Rapid Fire Rogue, Barrage Rogue, Heartseeker Rogue – Chain Lightning Sorcerer, Firewall Sorcerer |
A | – Whirlwind Barbarian – Windspike Druid, Wolf Companion Druid – Blood Lance Necromancer, Sever Shadow Necromancer – Twisting Blades Rogue – Blizzard Sorcerer, Ball Lightning Sorcerer, Fireball Sorcerer |
B | – Thorns Barbarian, HotA Barbarian – Hurricane Druid, Shred Druid – Blood Surge Necromancer – Arc Lash Sorcerer, Ice Shards Sorcerer, |
C | – Walking Arsenal Barbarian – Stormclaw Druid – Dual Core Rapid Fire Rogue – Charged Bolts Sorcerer |
Nightmare Dungeons in Diablo 4 are exactly how they sound. You’ll be frequently targeted by crowd-controlling attacks, and debuffs will play a major role in reducing your health. At the same time, the enemy quality and quantity are much higher, due to which you cannot survive without high AoE damage.
The best endgame builds usually work fine in Nightmare Dungeons as well, so it’s easy enough to look for which overall builds you want to focus on and take them into these activities. However, some work better even though they’re technically in a lower tier for endgame.
Best overall builds

Here we have builds that should serve you well across all kinds of Diablo 4 content. You’ll be able to level quickly, excel in endgame activities, and even play solo fairly comfortably while using them.
Don’t stop yourself from building a character/class due to this tier list if you really like its play style. With the right amount of investment and adjustments, you can make your own builds and also significantly improve the performance of some low-tier builds.
Your seasonal character is what you’re going to be playing with for the rest of the time, so whether you enjoy Sorcerer, Druid, or Rogue, make sure that your build is what’s right for you. If you’re comfortable with what you’re playing, it’s also more likely that you’re going to succeed in Infernal Hordes.
