Diablo 4 devs respond as frustrating Greater Affix bug ruins Infernal Hordes
Blizzard EntertainmentDiablo 4 Season 5 introduced a new endgame mode called Infernal Hordes, and one of its main draws is that players can get an item with a guaranteed Greater Affix in the chests that appear if they complete them on higher World Tiers.
However, over the past couple of days, players have reported that none of the items they get from these chests have Greater Affixes in them.
Community Lead Adam Fletcher mentioned on X that a fix is on the way, but this didn’t do too much to abate players’ frustration, given that this is not the only bug they’ve had to deal with since Season 5’s launch.
“This is seriously unacceptable, when you launch new season, you should have staff ready for ASAP hotfixes – like this, or Pit being completely broken and not dropping masterworking mats,” one player said on the thread.
Fletcher explained that the Greater Affix bug was a new one that cropped up after an old patch was released on August 8. And, since you can get Masterworking mats from other sources, the more pressing issue they’re working on is the Greater Affix bug.
“The GA stuff broke after the other hotfixes due to a knock-on change. The runeshards isn’t having as big of an impact as [Masterworking] mats are still available in Infernal Hordes,” Fletcher said in the post.
Although the new season has received some positive feedback from players, it’s also been one of the worst seasons for bugs yet.
Players have been struggling against an old problem with Poison being overpowered, and the Pit not dropping Masterworking Materials is not the only issue players are facing, as bosses have inflated HP right now too.
Alongside not getting materials and the Greater Affix bug, it’s starting to sour the experience in Season 5 for fans.
Infernal Hordes has been a success with players so far, but the Pit is also an important part of endgame gameplay, so players are hoping that fixes for all these issues come soon. Nonetheless, it looks like devs are working on it, so fans will have to remain patient while waiting for the patches.
