Diablo 4: How to get Seeds of Hatred
Blizzard EntertainmentSeeds of Hatred are a valuable resource in Diablo 4, allowing players to buy shiny new cosmetics for their character. From slaying monsters to PvP kills, these are the best ways to get Seeds of Hatred in Diablo 4 Season 1
In Diablo 4, players have the freedom to choose how they build their characters, from the skills they unlock to the gear and cosmetics they wear. There are many ways to earn new items in Sanctuary, such as completing side quests or farming Nightmare Dungeons.
However, some gear can only be bought from vendors located around the map using Red Dust, which requires Seeds of Hatred or Malignant Hearts to convert into usable currency.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to obtain Seeds of Hatred in Diablo 4 Season 1.
What are Seeds of Hatred in Diablo 4 Season 1?
If you want to buy cosmetics from vendors in Alzuuda and Denshar, you’ll need Red Dust. And to get Red Dust, you’ll need Seeds of Hatred. Seeds of Hatred are a special currency that you can only earn in Diablo 4’s PvP mode. You can exchange them at Altars of Extraction, where they will convert into Red Dust.
But earning Seeds of Hatred is not easy. You’ll have to enter the Fields of Hatred, where other players can hunt you down and kill you. And if you die, you’ll drop all the Seeds you collected. So if you want to farm Seeds of Hatred, you’ll need to be brave and careful.
How to get Seeds of Hatred in Diablo 4
Players can earn Seeds of Hatred in Diablo 4 by completing activities and slaying monsters in the Fields of Hatred, the game’s PvP areas. The are currently two Fields of Hatred in Sanctuary, which can be found in Dry Steppes and Kehjistan.
Almost everything you do in the Fields of Hatred will earn you Seeds of Hatred, whether it’s PvE or PvP activities. Check out all the ways to get Seeds of Hatred in Diablo 4 below:
Slay monsters
Defeating any standard enemies in the Fields of Hatred will make them drop Seeds of Hatred. Since this is the slowest method to get Seeds of Hatred, you will only get around 30 to 40 Seeds per monster. This is a good option for beginners who want to try PvP mode without much risk and still earn some rewards.
However, if you want to get Red Dust, the main currency for buying cosmetics, you’ll need a lot of Seeds of Hatred. That’s why Season 1 of Diablo 4 introduced a new method: Malignant Hearts.
You can obtain these powerful gems from elite enemies and trade them for Red Dust at any vendor. This is a faster but harder way to farm Red Dust, as Malignant enemies are harder to defeat.
Open Baleful Chests
You can only find Baleful Chests in the Fields of Hatred and each time you open one, it drops around 1,000 Seeds of Hatred. You don’t need to fight to crack one open, so it’s a relatively stress-free way to farm Seeds of Hatred quickly.
However, opening a Baleful Chest will automatically earn you a Bloodmark, meaning other players can now kill you and take your hard-earned loot.
Defeat Seething Abominations
Seething Abominations when defeated, drop anywhere between 1,000 and 3,000 Seeds of Hatred. These are one of the large boss enemies that roam the Fields of Hatred in Diablo 4, and taking one down is well worth the hassle.
The trade-off is that Seething Abominations are extremely tough to take down, so it’s recommended that you only challenge one if you’re confident in your abilities, or have a squad of friends to lend a hand.
Kill other players
All of the other players you run into in the PvP areas in Diablo 4 have been earning Seeds of Hatred for themselves, and defeating them in combat gives you the chance to steal their loot and escape. This is easily the highest-risk method but comes with the greatest potential reward.
Applying a Mark for Blood allows you to freely attack other Wanderers, but also leaves you vulnerable to damage. So, if you’re willing to put all of your Seeds of Hatred on the line, this is the method for you.
