Diablo 4 players already “sick of” Helltides in Season 3 suggest how to fix them

Diablo 4 Helltides are one of the few endgame activities that players can participate in. Introduced in the pre-season, this event was a nice way to farm weapons and gear, but its popularity has dropped considerably in Diablo 4 Season 3.

In Diablo 4, once you reach World Tier 3, you will come across specific areas in the Sanctuary that are marked in red on the map. In these regions, you will come across more demons and enemies from hell.

When defeated, these demons drop a currency known as Aberrant Cinders, which you can use to unlock special chests. This activity is known as Helltides and lasts for an hour before a lengthy cooldown.

Helltides were initially a good source of XP when it comes to leveling up, but as the seasons have progressed, they’ve slowly dropped off the radar. This is one activity that hasn’t received an update when compared to the other activities in the game.

Player ‘bluepaintings100’ took to Reddit to talk about the apparent problems with the Diablo 4 Helltides. According to them, they spend more time hunting for mobs rather than killing them.

Other players voiced similar opinions, but some of them suggested different ways in which Blizzard could improve the existing Helltides activity in Diablo 4.

Redditor ‘1trickana’ said, “They need like a beacon or something you can put gold into, and monsters are lured to it. Running around the zone endlessly going from event to event is just meh.”

Another player suggested and said, “They did some nice changes to Helltides, reduced (the) cost of Living Steel chest, and showed locations but more monsters are definetly needed, or a movement speed buff or something while you’re in the zone.”

Fans also suggested that Blizzard could add a feature like the Vampiric Siphon activity from Diablo 4 Season 2. Although the Cursed Conduit activity is very similar to the Vampiric Siphon activity, it does not exist in the Helltides.

Others shared tricks to farm Aberrant Cinders quickly during these Helltides in Diablo 4. They said, “You run around the edges of the map. There are more spawns and pretty consistent chests/plants/veins that give more. Ignore events unless it’s like Jar of Souls.”

Players have been critical of the current season and have suggested a lot of changes over the past few weeks since Diablo 4 Season of the Construct was released. It will be interesting to see if Blizzard addresses these changes in the upcoming patches.
