Diablo 4 players baffled as one-shot bosses make the Pit impossible

Season 5 is off to a bit of a rough start in Diablo 4. Despite the overall positive response to Infernal Hordes, there have been a few bugs plaguing players and making it difficult to progress. A problem that’s come up the most recently is that Pit bosses are one-shotting them.

The Pit was introduced in Season 4 as an endless dungeon where players have to clear rooms and beat bosses to progress. The main issue right now, though, is that the rooms of enemies are a lot easier to get through than the bosses.

One-shot mechanics in the mode have been an issue since Season 4, but players are struggling so much in the new season that they’re no longer sure it’s worth it. The rewards are not up to scratch for the effort you put in, and it’s difficult to plan for bosses that kill you so quickly.

Infernal Hordes are giving better rewards right now, and players are even claiming that the Pit bosses are out of sync with the mode entirely, as they’re almost impossible to defeat in comparison to the other enemies.

Bosses in the Pit are impossible to beat right now.

“I was just doing one and literally just let the boss kill me so I could teleport out of the Pit because I was like ‘I have better things to do.’ These bosses are huge damage sponges,” ‘Disappointing_Salad’ shared on Reddit.

There’s no denying it is a great starting point for new players to build their characters up. Not only that, but it adds variety to Diablo 4’s endgame, so the mode has tremendous value that’s just getting lost in what many believe has to be a bug.

“There’s no point running Pit now since the bosses are ridiculous and the rewards are terrible compared to Hordes. Hopefully a fix coming soon,” one comment read.

Blizzard are currently working on a few fixes for Diablo 4, including a patch to fix the Greater Affix drop bug in Infernal Hordes and the Pit not dropping the same materials as Hordes despite being an endgame activity.

So, patience is the key right now, but make sure you know how to defeat Diablo 4’s hardest bosses so you don’t fall behind in the meantime. Uber Lilith is also bugged at the moment, too, so just be aware of that if you try and take her on.
