Diablo 4 players baffled by “lazy” endgame boss design
Blizzard EntertainmentBlizzard have included a number of endgame bosses with the seasonal updates in Diablo 4 since launch, however, one of them has constantly been a pain for many players.
Diablo 4 devs have included a bunch of new mechanics in Season 3 like the Vaults and Seneschal Constructs, and the players have already reached the endgame within a month of its launch. However, the devs did not quite achieve the desired start due to a huge influx of complaints since the beginning of S3.
Most of the Diablo 4 player base is still unhappy with several aspects of the game as they resume the discussion regarding Uber Lilith once again. This endgame boss is regarded as the most unfair boss in the game and some players are just confused with the logic behind her existence.
Reddit user ‘Co-OpHardcoreFordie’ started this discussion in the Diablo 4 subreddit as they questioned: “Why is Uber Lilith so fundamentally different from everything else in the game?” claiming that her attacks truly one-shot players in the title.
The OP further clarified that Uber bosses like Malphas and Duriel have attacks that are significantly weaker than Uber Lilith, and “can’t kill you even if you’re a squishy [Sorcerer]” in Diablo 4. Uber Lilith, on the other hand, had a boatload of “lethal” attacks that were “death incarnate” according to the OP.
“I’m not asking for strategies or tips, I’m asking from a design standpoint, why would it make sense for this boss to be nothing like any other boss in the game?” asked the OP as they called Uber Lilith’s design choice “baffling” in Diablo 4.
Players agreed with the OP’s point of view, claiming it was a “lazy design” and there were no mechanics in the fight that were “interesting.” Some even felt that the in-game AI was “cheating” when they fought the boss in Diablo 4.
“Worst boss in my personal experience with gaming. Like the end of Overcooked before they fixed it for All You Can Eat,” added one player as well.
The outrage against Uber Lilith is not a new issue and has been going on in the Diablo 4 community for a long time. However, the devs are yet to address this issue in any Campfire Chat or patch as of writing.
