Diablo 4 fans aren’t happy with the current dynamic of Helltides and expect an update to make them more of a well-received Season of Blood event. Here’s what the Diablo 4 community has been saying about Helltides.

Diablo 4 players are mostly happy with the overhaul of gameplay mechanics introduced in the Season of Blood updates. From new Unique items to much-needed balance changes, the 1.2.0 update seems to have hit the spot of what fans wanted. However, players agreed that there are some dynamics that still need some tweaking, such as Helltides.

Helltides will randomly affect some regions of Sanctuary by spawning hordes of enemies and increasing the level of everything in the zone. Players need to complete these events to get Aberrant Cinders and other materials that are only dropped as long as a Helltide is active.

“People have lives. It’s not cool that re-rolling an affix requires me to have a mat(erial) that I can only get within a certain window of playtime,” pointed out Redditor Such_Performance229 on a post titled: “Make Helltide 24/7, or stop requiring Helltide mats for item progression.”

This request was echoed by lots of players who agreed that Helltides should work as the new Blood Harvest events, which were introduced in Season 2. “Blood Harvest is everything Helltide should be. Packed with mobs, not a huge area, good events, always up and of course….The absolutely INSANE event at the middle with a complete shower of items,” noted Reddit user Joftrox.

Diablo 4 fans agreed that even if Season of Blood solved problems like the need to backtrack in Nightmare Dungeons, Helltides are still a sore point for those who are upgrading their items or trying to craft sigils.

“It’s not because of the Forgotten Souls thing, but because of the mats required to spawn the light uber boss. Since they’re required for Duriel, it feels terrible to be locked up from farming cause of time restrictions. Let me farm however many mats I want without having to schedule my day around it,” said Redditor Waylllop.
