Diablo 4 players call out major endgame Necromancer issues
Blizzard EntertainmentDiablo 4 players have called Blizzard out for the functionality of the Necromancer class, stating that an endgame Necromancer build defeats the purpose of the class.
Diablo 4 Necromancer players received some changes to the class at the start of Season 2, including balance changes and new vampiric abilities. As one of the highest damage dealers in the game, Necromancers remain a fan-favorite pick.
However, players are now realizing that Necromancers are problematic in the endgame stages of Diablo 4. ‘PolkSDA’ posted about the issue on Reddit, saying, “The only viable endgame/AoZ builds for Necromancer are ones that sacrifice minions rather than using them. Doesn’t that defeat the entire point of the class if there are no meaningful minion-based builds at all?”
This sentiment rang true with other fans. One player pointed out that the issue with minions does not only lie with Necromancers: “I agree,” they said. “Minions really suck this time around. Lots of buff needed for Necro and Druid minions. Sorc’s minions are well… more like summons than pets.”
More Diablo 4 players took to the comments to express their frustrations with the build’s limitations. The issue, it seems, does not only lie with minions becoming powerless the closer players get to endgame content.
A player even suggested, that the “Class needs an overhaul,” believing it would be better to see a big rework to Necromancers that allows players to effectively use their abilities. As another fan put it, “The skill tree is a mess with missing synergies. Really reliant on uniques to do anything cool.”
With the introduction of Uber bosses in Season 2, Necromancer players are not able to make full use of a major aspect of the class. Players are deeming this to be problematic, and the developers have not yet provided an update on any changes for the future.
