Diablo 4 players slam Season 3 Battle Pass for “dullest” rewards to date
BlizzardThe Diablo 4 Season 3 update introduced players to a new Battle Pass, however, many are unhappy with the rewards on offer.
Diablo 4 Season 3 is live and is known as the Season of the Construct. In this season, players will go up against Malphas, a demon who has taken control of the several machinations found within the vaults of Zoltan Kulle.
The update also brought the new Diablo 4 Season 3 Battle Pass, which has incurred the wrath of the players once again, as many feel the rewards on offer are too bland. Just like every other Battle Pass in live service titles, players can get their hands on some free cosmetics for their armor and weapons just by progressing through the different levels.
Player ‘kid-karma’ posted a comment on Reddit where they called out Blizzard for making a Battle Pass that was so dull that Diablo 4 players could skip purchasing it without worrying about missing out on any of the cosmetics that were included.
Players have had issues with the Diablo 4 Battle Pass ever since the very first season in the game, and the trend seems to have continued with Season 3 as well. Redditor ‘Petroarzed’ responded to the post and said, “Season 1 and 2 didn’t have great rewards, but season 3 is somehow worse. In my opinion, it’s the dullest reward track yet.”
Other players pointed out that the current Battle Pass does not offer enough Platinum to cover any cosmetic purchase either. On this topic, ‘ShadowStorm1985’ said, “I checked out in S1 with the red t-shirt. The fact that you don’t earn enough points back in season to get the next season’s pass makes Call of Duty look like value for money.”
For context, you can earn around 700 Platinum in the Season 3 Battle Pass, while the item itself is priced at 1000 Platinum. Other players drew comparison to Fortnite, where you earn enough V-Bucks to purchase the next seasonal Battle Pass.
Players also added that Diablo 4 cosmetics had the least value proposition for the money spent. According to them, the cosmetics in the Battle Pass were below average, and the ones that were worthwhile were included in the in-game item shop, and were priced at $20 and above.
Given that the new season is currently underway, it’s unlikely that the developers will make changes to the Battle Pass rewards at this point. However, considering that players have been vocal about this problem for a while now, they might make a few changes to it in the upcoming seasons.
