Diablo 4 players still divided over Seneschal Constructs in Season 3 despite dev response
Blizzard EntertainmentDiablo 4 Season 3 is just around the corner, as the devs have revealed some intriguing features regarding the upcoming season. With the players already asking questions about the new mechanics, the devs have come forward to clarify them.
Diablo 4 Season 3 is almost here, as Season 2 makes way for new Constructs in Sanctuary. With Malphas being the mastermind behind this invasion, players must feel excited to kill them and travel with their new companion.
One of the most talked about additions in Season 3 is the mechanical companion, known as the Seneschal Construct. This robot will walk and fight alongside the players as they take on the enemy forces controlled by Malphas.
Adding a permanent companion during any Diablo 4 season would bring questions from the community, so it’s no surprise to see many regarding the Seneschal Construct. However, a simple tweet from Sean White, Diablo 4’s Class Designer has clarified the players’ doubts about 1:1 scaling.
White’s tweet confirmed that the Seneschal Constructs would “scale 1:1 along with your own stats”, which basically means that your companion will grow stronger along with you. A Diablo 4 Season 3 character will have a companion that matches the Attack Power of its build, according to the tweet.
“That’s big!” claimed one of the players while asking if the companion would inherit aspects and other unique buffs as well. White replied: “If it’s a raw stat increase or damage bonus effect on you, then yes, the Seneschal will also inherit it. However, the Seneschal does not [procure] your legendary/paragon/etc. passive effects.”
Some players on X (formerly Twitter) were quite positive about this, as they said, “that’s a huge addition” in Diablo 4. However, a Reddit user named ‘TrezCushrenada’ posted a screenshot about this in the Diablo 4 subreddit, which attracted a few concerned individuals.
Although some like this new feature in the community, some find this to be “awfully meh” while others claimed that they would be happy if the Seneschal Companions did “even 20%” of their damage.
Overall, the community is still divided on it. Although the devs have clarified one major doubt about 1:1 scaling, some players are probably waiting for the season to drop to experience this first-hand in Diablo 4.
