Diablo 4 PvP explained: Fields of Hatred, priority quest, more
BlizzardIf you have already finished the Campagne Mode in Diablo 4 and you want to face other players, here’s everything you need to know about PvP in Diablo 4, from how Fields of Hatred works to how to enable and disable the PvP.
In the vast majority of RPGMMO games like Diablo 4, there are two types of players. On one hand, there are those who prefer solo play, facing and eliminating every mob that comes their way, including level bosses and event mobs. On the other hand, there are those who, beyond the campaign mode, enjoy constantly challenging other players in PvP combat.
In Diablo 4, one of the great features is PvP combat. However, this feature is not available everywhere on the map. That’s why if you are one of those who can’t wait to face other players, we bring you a complete guide on where and how to enable PvP in Diablo 4.
How to unlock PvP in Diablo 4
To unlock PvP in Diablo 4 you’ll need to travel to Fields of Hatred and start a Priority Quest talking to a man at the small town. The Fields of Hatred is the specific area on the map where PvP is enabled. You can find this area to the south of the Dry Steppes region, marked with a reddish color, which distinguishes it from the common beige color of the other regions in Diablo 4.
There, in the small town, you will find a new Priority Quest where you will speak with the man who will introduce you to PvP in Diablo 4. Basically, the man will ask you to gather Seeds of Hatred, which can only be obtained in the Fields of Hatred by killing mobs, bosses, and other players, opening chests, and completing events.
How to enable PvP in Diablo 4
To enable PvP in Diablo 4 you must open your action wheel and select the ‘Mark for Blood’ option. This way, you will enable PvP, allowing you to kill other marked players and for them to kill you. You cannot attack unmarked players, and vice versa. Also, you can kill other players in order to take their Seeds for yourself. This means that other players will be looking to do the same to you.
Once you become bloodmarked in the Fields of Hatred, you have the opportunity to compete for the title of Hatred’s Chosen by eliminating other players. The player with the most kills at a given time earns this prestigious title. However, being Hatred’s Chosen comes with a price, your position on the map becomes visible to all other players, making you a prime target.
While holding the title, you are unable to perform Purification Rituals at altars and must survive long enough to claim valuable rewards. Remember that the Hatred’s Chosen title is relinquished upon entering a town or leaving the Fields of Hatred.
How to remove the ‘Mark for Blood’ & disable PvP in Diablo 4
Finally, the only way to remove the ‘Mark for Blood’ in Diablo 4 is by visiting the Altar of Cleansing, which is located within the town of Fields of Hatred.
Remember that every time you leave Fields of Hatred, even if you have the ‘Mark for Blood’ active, you won’t be able to kill other players, and they won’t be able to kill you either.
