- The Sorceress
- The Rogue
- The Necromancer
- The Druid
Those who played Diablo 3 will recognize The Necromancer and The Barbarian classes, while the other classes featured in previous Diablo games. Luckily, players will be able to customize their character’s appearance regardless of class.

Diablo 4 story explained
Diablo 4 will take players back to the Sanctuary where Lillith, the daughter of the Lord of Hatred, Mephisto, has returned. Her intentions to take revenge against Inarius can prove fatal for humankind in the Sanctuary, and you’re tasked to defeat her.
Does Diablo 4 have crossplay?
Yes, Diablo 4 will support crossplay and cross-progression which was confirmed in a 2022 Xbox & Bethesda showcase. This means that you’ll be able to progress through PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 4/5 by just linking your Battle.net account.
Moreover, crossplay will ensure that differences in platforms won’t stop you from teaming up with your buddies. Players looking to play together with their friends locally can also use the couch co-op system to play with a split screen.
How will microtransactions work in Diablo 4?
After Diablo Immortal was called out for being pay-to-win, Blizzard have assured that microtransactions in Diablo 4 are strictly for cosmetic items.
The devs said this in a blog post:
“We want buying things to feel good–before, during, and after purchase. So, if players choose to buy something, it should be because they want to, not because they feel like they have to.”
It is safe to assume that Diablo 4 won’t introduce any microtransactions that affect the gameplay or benefit players in quests and boss fights. Instead, you’ll spend money only on things that improve your character’s look.
Similarly, the in-game Battle Pass will only hand out cosmetic rewards and won’t impact your in-game progress in any manner.
Diablo 4 seasons
Diablo 4 will support seasonal play like its predecessors and Blizzard are targeting four seasons every year for it. This means that each season will last three months and every season will bring new questlines, features, enemies, items, and cosmetics to the table.
Diablo 4 gameplay explained: Paragon boards & character building
Alongside the visual upgrades, you’ll notice these changes in Diablo 4’s gameplay compared to previous games in the series:
Paragon system
Diablo 4 has end-game features like a Paragon board and world tiers that’ll help players improve their characters even more than the skill tree. After reaching level 50, you can choose different paths in the Paragon board and get the desired buffs related to strength, agility, magic, and other attributes.
There are multiple Paragon Boards in Diablo 4 that you access by increasing your character’s level. Each board opens up new possibilities for character customization and toward the end, you might end up with a build that is uniquely yours.
As your level increases, you’ll also gain access to different world tiers named Adventurer, Veteran, Nightmare, and Torment. The challenges get tougher in higher world tiers but you also get more options to level up and strengthen your character.
Nightmare Dungeons
There are over 120 Dungeons in Diablo 4 and an in-game sigil will let you increase their intensity, enemy strength, enemy type, and objectives, among other things. This is another way to make your endgame enjoyable without repetitiveness.
Hell Gates will also appear in these dungeons out of nowhere and bring enemies from other regions. This way, every dungeon will test your mettle in an unpredictable manner.
Fields of Hatred
One more feature that Diablo 4 players can make the most of during the end game is a Field of Hate. These regions are adversely affected by Lillith’s presence and you can get shards by completing challenges. These shards can be sold to get a bunch of exciting cosmetics in-game.
The catch here is that the shards become usable only after you purify them and other players can stop you from doing so. Hence, you will have to improve your PvP skills in the Fields of Hatred.
New enemies in Diablo 4
Diablo games have always focused a lot on creating tough and innovative enemies. Here’s a list of new bosses and monsters that you’ll come across in Diablo 4:
- Blood Bishop – Deals AoE style damage.
- Skeleton Lord – Summons skeletons, creates walls, and slams his staff on players.
- An unnamed spider host boss that can spawn spiders.
- Succubus.
We’ll update this section whenever Blizzard reveals more bosses that you can find in the open world.
Diablo 4 character customization
Diablo 4 has finally removed character presets and you’ll be able to customize almost all aspects of your character’s avatar. This includes facial features and armor.
Although the character customization in Diablo 4 isn’t the best we’ve ever seen, it is still by far the most detailed in the series.
Diablo 4 trailers
In the past few weeks, the Diablo YouTube channel has uploaded a ton of content revealing major in-game features like Sanctuary, and endgame characteristics like World Tiers, Capstone Dungeons, Paragon Boards, and Fields of Hatred.
