Diablo 4 has a ton of Dungeons around Sanctuary to complete for a variety of strong loot, and the Shifting City is a particularly good one to finish if you’re playing Rogue this season.

Here’s where you can find the Shifting City Dungeon, everything you need to do to complete it, and some tips on how to defeat the boss at the end.

Where to find Shifting City Dungeon in Diablo 4

The Shifting City is a dungeon in Diablo 4 that can be found in the Qara Yisu subregion of Dry Steppes. This location is medium-sized, but you’ll have to wander around its map to complete the dungeon’s challenge.

You’ll find the Shifting City location quickly if you use the Ruins of Qara Yisu Waypoint and head northeast.

How to complete Shifting City Dungeon in Diablo 4

  • Return miscellaneous items to the pedestal
  • Collect Animus and deposit it in the Animus Urn
  • Beat the boss

Objective 1: Return an item to the pedestal

The first objective you need to complete in this dungeon is to find specific items and return them to the pedestal.

The items you need to find can either be an Ancient’s Statue, Bloodstones, Mechanical Box, or Stone Carving. It’ll be different for you when you enter the dungeon, but the completion process is the same.

The items you need to find and the pedestals will be marked on your map with objective indicators as you get near them. You can’t carry more than one item at a time, so this objective may take some back-and-forth to complete.

Objective 2: Collect Animus from Animus Carriers

The second objective will task you with collecting Animus from Elite mobs until the bar on your interface is filled. Once it’s full, you need to deposit the Animus you’ve collected in the Animus Urn, which will be marked on your map.

The Elites that drop the Animus will be marked on your map as little skulls, so head in that direction to take them down and collect what you need.

Objective 3: Defeat the boss

You’ll have the defeat the Tomb Lord to complete the Shifting City Dungeon. They specialize in summoning armies of the undead and have several attacks you need to be aware of:

  • Spirit Tornado: Slow moving tornadoes that blind you when you step inside one.
  • Undead Reinforcements: Summons an army of the undead.
  • Bone Wall: Creates a bone wall that blocks you from moving.
  • Bone Wall Explosion: Any Bone Walls left over after casting explode.

The easiest way to take down the Tomb Lord is to avoid the Bone Walls and Tornadoes and use Stagger mechanics to stop them from casting. If you find yourself trapped in a Bone Wall, make sure to destroy as many as possible so they can’t explode when the boss is done casting.

Shifting City Dungeon rewards

You’ll get the Legendary Ravenous Aspect after finishing all challenges in the Shifting City Dungeon. This Aspect grants Rogues increased Energy Regeneration for 4 seconds every time they kill a Vulnerable enemy.
