Diablo 4: The Gauntlet release date
As mentioned on the Diablo 4 Campfire Chat on February 29, The Gauntlet will launch alongside the 1.3.3 update on March 5. While players need not reach level 100 to access this activity, they will have to hit World Tier 4 to participate in this weekly Dungeon.
How to play The Gauntlet in Diablo 4
The Gauntlet will be a weekly challenge Dungeon in Diablo 4 that will allow players to compete in the global Leaderboards.
This Dungeon will have the same layout throughout the week, including boss and enemy spawn locations. Every run will be a timed run and players will have eight minutes to achieve the highest score that they can.
The Gauntlet will be set as a fixed nonlinear dungeon that will reset once a week along with Weekly Leaderboards. Instead of normal loot, chests, and enemies will be dropping “Proofs of Might.“ These are essential to the final Weekly Leaderboard position and rewards.
To unlock chests in the Dungeon, players will have to collect keys. These keys drop from random enemies in the game. There are two types of chests that players will come across. They are as follows:
- Normal chests – Spawn more frequently but drop a lesser number of Proofs of Might.
- Gold chests – Spawn rarely but they drop a higher number of Proofs of Might.
It’s worth noting that the chest spawn locations are fixed, just like the entire layout of the map. Players will have to figure out the best route to access these chests to boost their score.
There are different Shrines that players will come across as well, including a special Shrine which causes all the enemies to respawn. For a high score, players will have to make effective use of these Shrines in The Gauntlet in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4: Weekly Leaderboard explained
Weekly Leaderboards in Diablo 4 will track The Gauntlet scores that can be filtered for Hardcore and Normal characters, party size, and classes. Players will also be able to filter between global players, platforms used, friends, or clan.
The best players of each week’s Leaderboard will be recorded in the Hall of Ancients, a permanent Leaderboard.
Everyone competing in The Gauntlet will be able to win different seals depending on their Leaderboard position: Seal of the Blooded, Seal of the Steadfast, Seal of the Iron-Willed, and Seal of the Worthy. These will show on players’ profiles as well as in-game to enjoy some weekly bragging rights.
Diablo 4 The Gauntlet rewards
For every successful run, players will receive a cache filled with gear. There’s also a chance for these caches to drop level 925 gear as well.
At the end of the week, players will receive another cache depending upon their position on the Leaderboard. The rewards in these caches will be random but will also depend upon the position that they achieve on the said Leaderboard.
