Diablo 4 Infernal Hordes enemies

Infernal Hordes in Diablo 4 have you face off against three new major enemies – the Tormentor, the Desecrator, and the Burning Butcher. Among these three, the Tormentor is now considered stronger than Uber Lilith, even though it’s not a boss.

It’s an endgame mode so even though this Season 5 activity is built for experienced players, veterans found more than they bargained for.

Reddit user SnooWalruses7933′ claimed it’s “10x as strong as Lilith.” They said: “Why does this guy hit so hard? He’s like the guy at the gym that only trains chest and arms. So he hits for 12 trillion damage.”

Many added that the Tormentor acts as a “DPS check” for the Infernal Hordes tier. If you struggle to defeat it at first, you should retreat to level up more, specifically by getting better gear and grinding Tormented bosses for Mythic Uniques.

“He’s there so you can gauge the tier’s strength,” claimed a player and others shared how they lost their Hardcore characters after facing him unprepared.

The best way to fight the Tormentor is by getting accustomed to its attack patterns. It has some devastating AoEs that can decimate your HP bar within seconds, so it’s best to simply dodge your way out.

Sorcerer is the best class to face this beast thanks to the meta projectile builds. But you can always tank hits with the Barbarian and Druid, provided you have enough HP. Lastly, make sure you know when to give up and turn down the tier level, as you can always explore more to grow stronger.

The Tormentor isn’t the only Infernal Horde enemy that has been a wall as some are getting one-shotted by the Desecrator too.

Although most find these enemies quite difficult, there weren’t many complaints about them. Most didn’t ask the devs to nerf these foes, so it seems like they actually enjoy the challenge.

While the Pit bosses are still receiving complaints about their one-shot mechanics, the Infernal Hordes remain the go-to game mode in Season 5, even with such difficult encounters.
