GTA Online has become one of Rockstar’s biggest focuses, and with so many new features, heists, vehicles, and more being released regularly, players want to team up with their friends using cross-platform play.
Crossplay has become commonplace for the biggest multiplayer titles. While games like Fortnite and Apex Legends introduced it first, Warzone and Call of Duty’s use of the system have been monumental, allowing players to drop into Verdansk no matter their preferred platform.
Although GTA Online has been out since 2013, its popularity hasn’t declined thanks to roleplaying servers like NoPixel, and massive updates like the summer’s Los Santos Tuners event, which introduced lots of new content.
With GTA Online dominating the market on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, with Xbox Series X and PS5 to follow next year, players are keener than ever for Rockstar to introduce cross-platform play.
Here’s everything we know.
Why doesn’t GTA Online feature crossplay?
While the game is available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, the bad news is that GTA Online does not feature crossplay, meaning players can’t join friends on other systems.
When Rockstar’s GTA V and its online component first launched in 2013, crossplay was a mere fantasy for gamers. This was nearing the end of the Xbox 360 and PS3’s lifecycles, and various agreements between Xbox and PlayStation prevented crossplay from being a reality.
GTA V then launched on the Xbox One and PS4 in 2014, and the PC edition came a year later in 2015. This was still before crossplay was considered a possibility.
Cut to 2018, and Fortnite set the bar for crossplay across games. For the first time ever, players on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, even Switch and mobile, could play together. This has now become the standard for multiplayer games, but GTA Online is yet to make the jump.
Never mind the coding required, a significant amount of balance tweaks need to be made for a game to fairly become cross-platform. PC players can take advantage of higher graphics and framerates, while console players have aim assist, and these all need to be considered to make a fair playing field.
It’s likely that a lot of work would need to go into making GTA Online cross-play, and this doesn’t coincide with developers’ current plans for the game. However, with next-gen editions of GTA V set to release in early 2022, could crossplay come then?
When will GTA Online get crossplay?
There is no official word for when GTA Online will receive crossplay. However, with GTA Online set to release for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, it’s possible that crossplay will come with these enhanced editions.
The current generation of consoles have hardware more in-line with a high-end PC’s capabilities, so this would be the perfect time to introduce crossplay. As this is a separate endeavor to regular GTA Online updates, this is the most likely time during the development cycle for it to be included.
To further bolster this theory, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick promised that the new versions of GTA V won’t be a “simple port.” He said: “We actually take the time to do the very best job we can making the title different for the new release, for the new technology that we’re launching it on.”
Unfortunately, the PS5 version of GTA Online has been delayed until March 2022, so it’s likely we’ll need to wait until early next year to hear details about what changes Rockstar has made. Whether cross-platform play is included in that remains to be seen.

Has Star Wars Battlefront 3 been canceled? Leaks, rumors & everything we know
It’s been reported that Star Wars Battlefront 3 isn’t in development at DICE, so here’s everything we know about the Star Wars shooter.
Although rumors made it likely that Star Wars Battlefront 3 was in development, recent reports claim DICE and EA have abandoned the game in favor of continuing to support Battlefield 2042.
The Star Wars Battlefront franchise was rebooted in 2015 by DICE on the Frostbite engine. Huge battles, stunning visuals, and sounds directly from the films made the game a Star Wars fan’s dream.
Although 2017’s Battlefront 2 loot box system received massive backlash, changing how microtransactions were implemented in video games forever, Star Wars fans loved the core gameplay and were desperate for Battlefront 3.
However, following on from Battlefield 2042’s troubled release and the recent news that Respawn Entertainment are working on new Star Wars titles, journalist Jeff Grubb has reported that Star Wars Battlefront 3 isn’t in development.
Here’s everything we know about Battlefront 3.
- Battlefront 3 reportedly not in development
- Respawn developing new Star Wars FPS
- Battlefront 2 actors returned to work
Star Wars Battlefront 3 reportedly not in development
It was announced on January 25 that Respawn Entertainment would be developing three new Star Wars titles and alongside this news, VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb reported that “Battlefront 3 isn’t happening.”

Battlefront 3 was noticeably absent from EA’s latest Star Wars video game announcement. Then, suspicions were seemingly confirmed after Grubb said “DICE, which is still putting out fires with Battlefield 2042, is focusing on the Battlefield franchise going forward.”
It was previously reported by industry insider Tom Henderson that Battlefront 3’s pitch was denied because it was too expensive to make.
Unfortunately, it sounds like Battlefront 3 isn’t in development.
Respawn Entertainment developing Star Wars FPS game
It was announced that one of the titles Respawn Entertainment are developing is a new Star Wars FPS title.

The project will be helmed by Peter Hirschmann, who worked on fan-favorites such as the original Battlefront II, The Force Unleashed, the classic LEGO games, and Republic Commando.
Little is known about this new Star Wars FPS game, but it’s highly unlikely that it’s anything to do with the Battlefront franchise.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 actors returned to work
Battlefront 3 rumors began to fly when actors from Battlefront 2’s campaign tweeted that they were working together again in late 2020, posting images of motion capture suits.

Several actors from the original Battlefront game have posted that they are back to work on social media. In November, TJ Ramini, who played Del Meeko, posted an image of him holding a motion capture suit to his Twitter. Alongside it, he said “Hello, old friend,” with a video game controller emoji beside it.
Janina Gavankar, who played Iden Versio, posted an image of a motion capture suit around the same time.
Also, Anthony Skordi, who played Imperial Admiral Versio, posted a picture of him in a recording booth and bantered with Ramini, confirming they were working on a project together.
With these actors confirming they are working together and posting motion suit pictures around the same time, many believed they were working on the Star Wars Battlefront 3 campaign together.
It’s possible that they were working on Battlefront 3 which has since been scrapped, it could have been for another Star Wars project, or a different project entirely.

Ultimate Team remains the most popular mode in the FIFA series. One of the many reasons for this is incorporating real-world football into its addictive gameplay loop through special cards, such as Icons or the new FUT Heroes.
One of the mode’s oldest promotions is ‘Team of the Week’, which offers players a weekly batch of upgraded cards, based on real-life player performances the previous week, to help build out their squads.
We’ll be updating this hub with the latest FIFA 22 TOTW news, so be sure to check back here every week.
Here are the full updates for FIFA 22’s Team of the Week 19.

What are TOTW cards in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team?
Team of the Week items are special cards that boost stats based on that player’s performance in the previous week of real-world games. Any player awarded an in-form will see both their ratings and in-game stats get a permanent increase.
Every week, EA unveils a 23-man squad of the stars who had the best games in the previous domestic or international fixtures round. They could be awarded for a last-minute winner in a big game or a heroic performance from a goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet.

Each TOTW is available in packs for an entire week until it is replaced by the next squad on the following Wednesday. Player’s can not receive an in-form two weeks in a row.
While an in-form card is in packs, it replaces the base version of that player. The normal card will return to packs when that TOTW is over.
FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Featured TOTW
In FIFA 22, EA has addressed fans’ complaints that TOTW items are often quickly rendered useless by the other promotional cards added to the game throughout the year.

Every week, one player will receive a special Featured TOTW card. These players will receive a larger boost than the rest of the squad in an attempt to make them more desirable to those building their teams.
To qualify for this additional stat-boost, the player must have a base card that is under 80-rated and not have any other performance-based card in packs – such as a Ones to Watch.
When is the TOTW released?
Historically, EA announces the latest TOTW every Wednesday so that any Monday night games can be considered.
Each new team is normally Tweeted out around 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT with a full look at every upgrade.

Crysis 4 announced: Reveal trailer & platforms
Crysis 4 is officially happening as the developers released new information and a trailer regarding the next instalment for the franchise.
The developers behind the Crysis series, Crytek, have officially announced the development of Crysis 4 with an announcement trailer.
It’s been nine years since Crysis 3 was released, but thankfully fans have been able to relive the experience recently through the Crysis Remastered Trilogy, which was released in 2021.
The Crysis franchise has always been known for pushing the bar when it comes to graphics, mechanics, and overall innovation when it comes to game development. Now, in 2022, the developers have teased a fourth game, getting fans excited for a new next-gen experience.
A lot has changed since Crysis was released. At the time, the games were extremely impressive and stood as a benchmark for the power of a PC with the phrase “can it run Crysis?”
The games were innovative and took advantage of the most up-to-date technology of the times. Now in 2022, Crysis 4 is officially happening, and the developers are looking to continue the trend of creating a “truly next-gen shooter,” as they stated in their announcement blog post.
Does Crysis 4 have a release date?
Crysis 4 has only just been announced, so unfortunately there is no official release date for the game. Having said that, the developers did give players an inclination as to how far they are through development:
“Right now the game is in the early stages of development so it will be a while yet…as development progresses we will release more details when we can.”
Despite being in early development, the developers seem committed to creating another installment of Crysis that lives up to the expectations of the original games.
As more information is uncovered about Crysis 4, we will be sure to update this piece so make sure you check back here soon.
What platforms will Crysis 4 be available on?
It’s unclear exactly which platforms Crysis 4 will be available on, as the game is so early on in development.
However, as the blog post mentions the developer’s aim to create a “truly next-gen shooter,” we can safely say that the game will likely be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
It could also be available on the previous generation of consoles, but due to the franchise’s reputation of pushing hardware to the limit, we’ll have to wait for official news. Again, once more information regarding the available platforms is released, we will update this article.
Crysis 4 announcement trailer
Along with the blog post, Crytek also released a teaser for the game. The trailer is only an announcement for the working title, but will still get fans of the original games hyped for its release and development.
The trailer features some pretty impressive visuals, with the iconic Crysis helmet being visible for a short second as rubble starts to fall and cover it up.
Hopefully, these visuals will translate into the game, as the video is definitely visually pleasing and high quality.
As more information is released regarding Crysis 4, we will be sure to update this page. For more, check out the news regarding Warzone 2.
