‘Double Pump’ glitch found in Fortnite Season 5

You can use The Dub shotgun to “Double Pump” in Fortnite Season 5. This is either a bug or a new feature that Epic Games has implemented.

Now that Fortnite Season 4 is officially over, we’ve shifted back from superpowers to guns. Season 5 is filled to the brim with exciting content, including different weapon types. Exotic guns are a new addition to Fortnite, and one of these is called ‘The Dub.’

This is a new variant of the Double Barrel Shotgun, but it comes with the Flint-Knock Pistol’s knockback capabilities. You can purchase this weapon at Compact Cars but it will be ludicrously expensive due to its rarity.

The Dub will become more prevalent later in the season as players earn more Gold Bars. One different thing about this weapon is that it doesn’t have the switching cooldown between shotguns.

The shotgun cooldown timer is a feature that was introduced during the first Chapter of Fortnite. It’s meant to keep players from Double Pumping, a strategy that involves picking up two Pump Shotguns and quickly switching between each one after firing.

Since the The Dub doesn’t have the switching cooldown between shotguns, you can use this strategy to bypass the low magazine size. You can also combine it with Tac or Charge for added speed.

This strategy can be seen in action in a clip by Fortnite YouTuber, OrangeGuy, below.

At the moment, we’re not sure this is a bug or a feature that the developers intentionally added to the game. The former is probably the case, as this strategy has been increasingly nerfed since Season 3 to the point that it became impossible to perform.

Epic Games haven’t addressed this issue, so it probably hasn’t come to their attention yet. If they announce anything related to the Double Pump, then we’ll update you.
