Dr Disrespect calls for new Apex Legends Ranked mode to solve major issue
As Apex Legends continues to grow in popularity, big-time streamer Dr Disrespect claims the battle royale would benefit from a “Duos ranked” option for those who don’t have a third.
With Apex Legends Season 13 on the horizon, more players are enjoying Apex Legends than ever before in 2022. As well as the Flashpoint LTM gaining some attention alongside the Unshackled Event, those who enjoy ranked are coming to the end of yet another season.
As well as NICKMERCS continuing to enjoy Apex Legends’ Ranked Leagues, now Dr Disrespect is working his way through the ranks, as well as offering a suggestion for the devs.
In his recent YouTube stream, Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm IV has been grinding through Apex Legends’ ranked mode, trying to make his way up to the more prestigious Diamond and Master ranks.
While the two-time has been making progress, the lack of a third team member is definitely holding him and fellow content creator Zlaner back.
There is one suggestion Dr Disrespect claims would be “pretty sick,” and also alleviate the issue of not being able to find a third member, which many in the community also experience.
This is for Apex Legends to have a “Duos ranked” mode, which he states in the stream below around the 1:32:00 mark. Both players seem excited about the idea of a Duo ranked mode, saying “it would be phenomenal, wouldn’t it? I feel like they need that…Duos ranked.”
Since its release back in 2019, the devs did add a permanent Duos playlist for public lobbies, as well as Arenas, and LTMs that also altered the player count and game rules.
Therefore, it isn’t totally out of the realm of possibility that this would happen. However, it’s probably still a long shot considering that the devs often remind players about how perfect the three-player squad system works for Apex Legends.
With that being said, although it may work, it’s unlikely that they would bring Duos to ranked as it would disturb what they feel is the best way for the game to be played, especially when it comes to the competitive space.
