EA responds to Apex Legends Code:Truck error

EA has found a fix for the Code: Truck error that has been plaguing Apex Legends players since the latest update.

Apex Legends fans reported a strange issue that was keeping them from being able to play the game after The Holo-Day Bash update went live. The Code:Truck Error was preventing players from logging in, but EA & Respawn have patched it up.

The long-awaited Holo-Day Bash update for Apex Legends is finally here. It’s brought along a plethora of new content, along with some neat cosmetics and skins. The highlight of the update is the new Winter Express LTM but that’s not all that drew players’ attention.

The update also brought a new error to the game that was affecting many players in the Apex community. The Code:Truck error would show up up when they tried to join the game and it kept them from logging in. Here’s everything you need to know about the error and how EA responded to it.

What is the Code:Truck error?

Apex players reported getting a pop up message when trying to log into the game. The exact error message that they got said players were “out of sync with the server [code:truck]” as you can see below:

According to the error message, either the players were out of sync or the game was. Unfortunately, the exact technical issue behind this remains unknown, but a large number of people reported seeing this after the Holo-Day Bash update arrived.

It might just be a server issue that needs quick patching up but it caught the attention of the developers. They immediately tried to get handle on the situation.

EA responds to Code:Truck error

Electronic Arts took note when complaints about the code:truck error started blowing up in the Apex community. In order to reassure players that they were working on it, they gave this response:

We can see from this tweet that EA support hasn’t confirmed the exact cause of the error but they’ve suggested a possible short-term fix. They suggested waiting 40 minutes after the error appeared before trying to run Apex Legends again.

How to fix the Code:Truck error

A few hours after that first tweet, EA support announced that the Code:Truck error has now been resolved entirely, and they thanked the players for waiting patiently.

This came as a huge relief to the Apex community as now they can finally get back to enjoying the Holo-Day Bash update. We don’t know for sure if this fix has been successful for everyone so if you still encounter the Code:Truck error when trying to log in then you can try some other solutions.

Before this latest announcement came, many players on Reddit recommended a few different methods for fixing the error. One suggested changing the date and time on your console and this worked for a few people.

Other reported fixes were to verify the game files with Steam, or to try closing Apex Legends before running it again. These had varying levels of success for different players and many fans were worried that the error could cause irreversible harm to their game.

So far the fix seems to have worked perfectly and hopefully that is the end of this inconvenience. At this time we still don’t know what exactly lead to this error happening in the first place, or if the problem still persists for some fans, but we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

Apex Legends devs respond to Season 12 Pathfinder buffs requests

The Apex Legends developers have finally responded to player requests to buff Pathfinder’s abilities in Season 12.

Apex Legends players have been calling for some major buffs to Pathfinder in Season 12, and Respawn Entertainment have finally responded to these requests.

There are a total of 19 different characters to choose from in Apex Legends. All of these Legends have unique abilities that make them ideal choices for a variety of different combat situations.

Pathfinder has consistently been one of the top five picks in the game. Despite his popularity, players have been requesting that Respawn Entertainment provide him with a major buff in Season 12.

Now, one of the Apex Legends devs has responded to these requests.

Respawn will not change Pathfinder in Season 12

Apex Legends’ Lead Balance Director John Larson discussed Pathfinder in an interview with Dexerto’s Kijanna Henry. The dev went over why there hasn’t been any major update for the Legend.

After explaining how complicated it is to buff or nerf characters, he stated that Respawn believes Pathfinder currently doesn’t need any improvements. This can be attributed to the Legend’s high pick rate.

One popular player suggestion has been to increase Pathfinder’s utility while he uses a zipline, and Larson dismissed that idea: “Does he have less of an accuracy penalty on ziplines, or can he heal on ziplines? That would just straight up buff him.”

Larson also explained why Pathfinder’s abilities don’t need to match the strength of other characters: “It’s important to evaluate the kit as a whole. I don’t think there should be a world where every legend has an equally enticing passive, tactical, and ultimate.”

Timestamp at 10:59

It seems that Respawn are currently satisfied with Pathfinder’s performance, so we won’t see the Legend go through any major changes anytime soon. However, that doesn’t mean he’ll stay the same forever.

Larson noted that the team is always open to making changes when needed. So, we might see Pathfinder get some upgrades when the game’s meta shifts in a future season. Only time will tell when this will happen exactly.

5. Valkyrie – 7.4%

valkyrie apex legends

With Ash being knocked out of the top 5 most picked Legends since her release at the start of Season 11, Valkyrie has officially taken her spot with a 7.4% pick rate.

Valkyrie is great in Season 11, with unbelievable mobility thanks to her passive Jet Pack. This allows her to reposition and get in and out of situations with ease, arguably having the best potential to survive out of all Legends due to great mobility.

Valkyrie’s Ultimate is great for maps like Storm Point, as there are no Jump Towers and so her Skyward Dive offers useful rotations. Her Ultimate is great for getting the team into a spot for final circles, as you’ll be able to fly above and past enemy teams rotating into the zone.

4. Pathfinder – 8.8%

Pathfinder has consistently been one of Apex Legends’ top five picks at 8.8%, and counting, for quite some time now.

As a Recon class, Pathfinder simply excels in movements and traversing the game’s various maps. His Grappling Hook and Zipline Gun are simply invaluable assets that will help any team in a pinch – either because of the circle or a third-party situation. He consistently manages to stay in the top 5 as a result.

3. Bloodhound – 10.3%

Again, with the influx of new Apex Legends players, Bloodhound is a great character to use for new players in Season 11.

Bloodhound nearly always stays in and around the 8-11% mark as a season goes on, and they currently stand at 10.3%. They are easily the top Recon class to use in Apex Legends, thanks to their tracking tools and incredible skills, plus, their Beast of the Hunt Ultimate is priceless.

2. Octane – 12.3%

With a 12.3% pick rate, the speed demon takes the number two spot, continuing his reign as one of the most popular Legends in Season 11, fluctuating between the top two places.

Aside from his amusing quips, he is the perfect balance of offense and defense. Despite being regarded as an offensive Legend, Octane can greatly increase his sprint speed which is useful for both attack and running away.

But most Octane users thrive on his Launch Pad Ultimate which can send him, and friendly players, high up into the air.

1. Wraith – 12.5% Most picked Legend in Apex Legends Season 11

apex legends wraith character

Another starting Legend, Wraith has been a consistent pick throughout Apex Legends’ lifetime, and she has taken the number one spot with a whopping 12.5% pick rate in Season 11.

Wraith’s stand-out features are her ability to get out of trouble very quickly – teammates included. Her abilities allow her to sense danger, become temporarily invulnerable, and create portals to escape predicaments. It’s easy to see why Wraith continues to be an absolute fan-favorite in Apex Legends Season 11.

That covers all the picks in Apex Legends Season 11. As always, buffs and nerfs will come and go throughout the season, altering the game’s meta, and subsequently, Legend pick rates.

We’ll be sure to keep this updated regularly so you can stay on top of the in picks and don’t forget to check out the best Apex Legends weapon skins to use.

Best Apex Legends weapon skins with the cleanest iron sights

Apex Legends has some great weapon skins for players to craft, but some actually offer better iron sights than others.

Published

on

Some of the Apex Legends weapon skins offer a cleaner iron sight compared to others, here are some of the best you can craft.

Apex Legends is well known for its cosmetics, with new Twitch Prime skins coming out every month, as well as various events every season that offer new Legend and weapon skins.

As well as this, the game offers skins for players to craft without having to go to the store. These skins are available all year round and can be found in the “Legends” and “Loadout” categories of the lobby screen.

Some of these craftable weapon skins actually offer players an advantage, especially the skins for the best weapons in the game.

While it isn’t a huge advantage, the weapon skins in this list offer players a more clear iron sight that takes up less of the screen compared to the default.

Luckily, Reddit user mnkymnk has posted a video showcasing some of the best weapon skins that players can use in Apex Legends for a better iron sight. As well as these, we’ve also thrown a few more in for other weapons.

Best Apex Legends weapon skins for better iron sights

apes legends led rez alternator skin

The following list is the best weapon skins for players to use in Apex Legends. Keep in mind that not every weapon is on the list, as some weapon skins don’t actually offer any better craftable iron sights.

For example, the best Flatline skins for better iron sights are from a previous Battle Pass and the store, which can not be crafted.

  • Prowler – Dark Fright
  • Longbow – McFly or Pharaoh’s Curse
  • 30-30 Repeater – Wild West or Bullet Train
  • Wingman – The Death Ray or Merciless Wing
  • R-99 – The Kill Switch or Outlands Avalanche
  • Peacekeeper – The Lonestar or The Superstar
  • Sentinel – Biomechanics or Golden Spine
  • The Alternator – LED Rez or The Galvanizer

All these skins will offer players a more clear visual, reducing the amount of space the weapon’s iron sights take up on your screen. In theory, with these skins you should be able to see more of your target while aiming down sights, thus improving your performance.

These skins will require you to craft them with Crafting Metals. As these are all Legendary skins, they will cost your 1,200 Crafting Metals to obtain.

Make sure you check out our guide on Crafting Metals so you know how to get the skins you want.
