Midfielders are arguably the most important players in your EA FC 25 Ultimate Team squad and you’ll need the very best if you’re going to dominate the center of the pitch.

While strikers get the headlines, the middle of the park has a drastic impact on both your side’s attack and defense. Luckily, this year’s game is stacked with CMs, CAMs, and CDMs, from veterans who have been world-class for years to young players who have only just come through.

Best midfielders explained

Since EA FC 25 doesn’t arrive until September 20 and the official player stats haven’t been revealed, our best midfielders are based on leaked ratings from FUT Scoreboard. The leaker claims to have accessed the full database, so it’s likely final ratings will be close to the ones mentioned above.

For the sake of these lists, we’ve opted to leave out Hero and Icon cards, as these will be much harder to find and there are no guarantees that they will be in packs at launch. So, these are the highest-rated gold cards as it currently stands.

Of course, just because the player has a high rating doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be effective on the pitch, as we often see world-class cards fall short if their in-game stats don’t meet the meta. As a general rule, those with higher Pace tend to be the go-to players, as it ensures they can get in behind the other team’s defense or keep up with counter-attacking strikers and wingers.
