Although the official EA FC 25 player ratings are yet to be announced, plenty of high-profile cards have leaked to reveal some major upgrades and downgrades.

Every year, the devs refresh the Ultimate Team card of each player to reflect their performances in the previous season. These are always major talking points going into the next game, as their stats will decide how strong they are in the meta and what kind of promo cards they might receive.

So, here are some of the biggest rating upgrades and downgrades in FC 25 that have leaked so far.

Biggest rating upgrades in FC 25

Cole Palmer (+19)

Cole Palmer has been a hot prospect for many years in the Premier League, but the 2023/24 season finally saw him live up to the hype. After moving from Manchester City to Chelsea, the England international hit 22 goals, earning himself the Young Player of the Year award and a spot in the Team of the Season.

According to leaker ‘Donk Trading,’ his stellar performances will be rewarded with an eye-watering +19 upgrade in EA FC 25 – one of the biggest we’ve seen in Ultimate Team. After starting FC 24 with a 66-rated silver card, Palmer is set to be one of the top midfielders in the new game.

Kobbie Mainoo (+15)

Another one of England’s rising stars to be handed a huge upgrade is Kobbie Mainoo. The 19-year-old enjoyed a breakout season last time around, establishing himself as one of Manchester United’s most important players and grabbing a spot in the Euro 2024 squad.

Although he still has a way to go before competing with the world’s elite midfielders, a rating push from 62 up to 77 means that he could feature much more heavily in Ultimate Team this season. Plus, at under 20 years old, he’ll no doubt be a popular signing on Career Mode due to his lofty potential.

Viktor Gyokeres (+9)

While many of the biggest upgrades so far have been limited to Europe’s top five leagues, the performances of Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres have been impossible to ignore. The big Swede has emerged as one of the most promising strikers on the market, after finishing as the Primera Liga’s top goalscorer last season with 29 goals.

This will be reflected in his EA FC 25 player rating, which is set to soar from just 75 up to 84, coming with +11, +6, and +9 to his Shooting, Physical, and Pace respectively. With these stat boosts, Gyokeres has the makings of the perfect starter striker for your Ultimate Team if you can fit him in.

Nico Williams (+6)

Nico Williams is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young players in Europe, with the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal all looking to poach him from Atheltic Bilbao. Now, after the winger won the Euros with Spain, he’s due to be rewarded with a huge rating boost in EA FC 25.

Based on a leak from ‘Fut Scoreboard,’ he’s going to be on the receiving end of a +6 upgrade, taking him from 79 up to 85. This includes nice increases to his Dribbling, Pace, and Passing, making him one of the best wide players on offer during the early game.

Biggest downgrades in EA FC 25

Casemiro (-5)

On the other end of the spectrum, Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has reportedly taken a huge hit after receiving plenty of criticism last year. Formerly recognized as one of the best holding players in the world, the Brazilian dropped a string of rough performances that many felt cost his side in crucial games.

The result is a whopping (-5) downgrade that sees him slip out of the top 100 altogether. While this alone wouldn’t necessarily be fatal, the loss of 25 Pace is likely to make him much less viable when teams pack the center of the pitch with pacey midfielders.

Marcus Rashford (-4)

Staying in Manchester, Marcus Rashford is also set to be hit with a serious rating downgrade in FC 25. Based on a leaked card from ‘Donk Trading,’ the United star has gone down by 4 points following a disappointing season that saw him net just seven goals in the Premier League.

While he’ll still have 89 Pace, the hefty -3 and -10 hits to his Shooting and Physical mean he’ll lose his spot as a potentially meta winger, and will instead have to settle for being a pacey starter pick that you look to upgrade eventually.

Neymar Jr. (-2)

According to ‘Donk Trading,’ Neymar Jr. is still set to be one of the best players in EA FC 25 with an impressive 87 rating. However, while a downgrade of just -2 is nothing too drastic, the -4 Shooting change will no doubt see the Brazil icon slip down the pecking order after an injury-plagued debut season in Saudi Arabia.

All that being said, his Pace and Dribbling are still more than strong enough to make him useable in the right formation. Plus, with a few in-forms or promo cards under his belt, he could still grow into one of Ultimate Team’s most deadly players.

It’s worth keeping in mind that these ratings are all based on leaks, and nothing has been officially confirmed just yet. More and more upgrades and downgrades are emerging all the time, so we’ll be sure to update this page with the biggest winners and losers.
